I wanted to share a quick update on the time change bill we’ve been working on this session, along with recent poll results from Madison County.
We surveyed 569 voters, and the message was clear: nearly 76% said Tennessee should stop changing clocks twice a year, and about 68% support staying on standard time year-round to avoid the change altogether.
That lines up with what I’ve been hearing across the district—people are tired of the disruption and want consistency.
This bill passed the House Public Works subcommittee unanimously and had more than 17 cosponsors, reflecting strong support. That’s why it’s disappointing the Senate State and Local Government Committee voted it down for the year.
I still believe this is worth getting done, and I appreciate everyone who has spoken up and supported the effort.
We’ll keep working on it.
