Something is wrong when the biggest job in New York is home care: 650,000 people. Family members are getting paid for checkbooks, groceries, and rides to the doctor. CMS has no way to know if it happened. Medicaid is paying for fraud as much as medicine.

New York has 171 home health aides per 1,000 seniors. The U.S. average is 68. That is not normal. That is Medicaid fraud on a massive scale, and taxpayers are being forced to fund it. My bill would fix that.

This is why @WaysandMeansGOP held last week’s hearing on health care fraud. We have been working on this for months. Pay-and-chase has to end. Use the data. Find the fraud. Stop the money before it ever goes out the door.

We are heading toward a time where interest becomes the single biggest cost in this government. That buys you what?

Today, we will borrow $88,000 every second. Every second. The way the law is written today, Social Security is six years from a 24% cut. Medicare’s trust fund is gone. Hospitals take a cut. But we’re not supposed to say that out loud in an election year.

We’ve turned healthcare into financial engineering, and the math is catching up. In about six years, Medicare spending goes from $1 trillion to $2 trillion and the trust fund runs out. Washington would rather feed people simple answers than tell the truth about the math.

47% of U.S. healthcare costs are tied to obesity. And yet somehow we think it’s moral to hand someone an EBT card to go buy onion rings.

Today, the House passed my bill, the Taxpayer Experience Improvement Act. Taxpayers should not spend hours on hold with the IRS just to figure out the status of their refund or why they got a letter. We all carry a supercomputer in our pocket. My bill directs the agency to finally use that technology, giving taxpayers private, secure access to their own information before they ever have to pick up the phone. Taxpayers spend less time trapped on hold and get answers faster.

When the Colorado River runs short, outdated preference rules force Arizona to take the biggest cuts first. I introduced the Equal Access to the Colorado River Act so Arizona, California, and Nevada share reductions according to each state’s base water allocation.

Home health and personal care aides represented 38 percent of all job growth in New York, its largest job creator, largely because of a Medicaid program that has been widely abused. Spending in the program increased from $2,500,000,000 in 2019 to $12,000,000,000 in 2025; that’s an increase of 380%. New York has nearly three times the number of home health aides per elderly individual compared to the U.S. average. I’m proud to work with @SecKennedy to root out waste, fraud, and abuse to protect the most vulnerable Americans. Ask yourself why so-called “disability groups” are outraged by reasonable federal oversight?

You can pass every tax hike Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren have offered and it still only gets you about 2% of GDP. So far this fiscal year, Washington is borrowing almost 8% of GDP. Anyone see a math problem?

A lot of other countries rebate their VAT when they sell to us. Then they hit our products with it when we sell to them. That is not equal treatment. It is one more reason our producers get crushed in the global tax system.
