From severe weather alerts to local traffic updates, North Carolinians rely on broadcasters to deliver the information they need when it matters most. It was great meeting with the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters and hearing more about their work to keep our communities informed and connected.

Building a stronger North Carolina starts with better infrastructure. I joined Spectrum News 1 Charlotte to discuss how the BUILD America 250 Act, a five-year surface transportation reauthorization package, will help deliver infrastructure projects across North Carolina more quickly while securing more funding to improve the roads and bridges our communities rely on every day.

Today, I voted to advance the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 2026 out of committee. This bill makes investments across Southeastern North Carolina, protecting homes and businesses from natural disasters, and strengthens our maritime economy. I’m proud to have secured key priorities for NC-07 and will keep fighting to deliver results for North Carolina.

Huge news for the Town of Surf City!   Federal funding has been approved to begin Surf City's long-awaited beach nourishment project.   The project will improve the town's six-mile shoreline, widening the beach and helping protect the community and its visitors from future storms.
