With the arrest of Nicholas Maduro, the United States carried out the law and brought an indicted drug trafficker to justice. Yesterday afternoon, I discussed the legality of the operation in the @JudiciaryGOP Oversight Subcommittee.

I’m an original cosponsor of the Deporting Fraudsters Act because illegal aliens who defraud taxpayers – including those who admit it – should not be allowed to remain in or return to our country. I'm glad our commonsense bill passed the House today.

During my first year representing our 2nd Congressional District, four bills I introduced became law. This includes bills that improve veterans' access to healthcare and protect against downsizing of Department of Defense medical facilities, streamline the process for small businesses to become suppliers for the Pentagon, and improve retention of quality Army and Air Force National Guard officers by eliminating a penalty for breaks in service. I will continue advancing commonsense policies that strengthen our communities.

Got a behind-the-scenes look at renovations to Topeka's West Ridge Mall last week. It's an exciting project that will transform an aging facility into new shopping space and the headquarters for Advisors Excel. I'm anxious to see it continue to conclusion!

Grateful for the opportunity earlier this week to roundtable about tax and other business issues with members of the @KansasChamber. We need pro-growth tax, energy, and regulatory policies so Kansas businesses from mom-and-pop on Main Street to our largest employers can grow. At least four attacks on U.S. soil in the past two weeks each with indicia of radical Islamic terrorism: Texas, New York, Virginia, and now Michigan. Americans dead, more injured. It is beyond irresponsible for Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, and their followers to continue blocking funding for the Department of Homeland Security, which was created after 9/11 to keep our homeland safe. Fund DHS now.

I've been happy to work with @RepMarkAlford, the White House, and the Department of Homeland Security to release funding for Kansas City to continue security preparations for the World Cup. Had the great privilege yesterday of participating in a patching ceremony for young soldiers in the 1st Infantry Division. As the oldest division in the Army, the Big Red One has a storied history. It is an honor to work with and support the next generation of America's warfighters as many prepare for a (long-scheduled) deployment to Europe.
