Happy St. Patrick’s Day CA-31!

I’m so proud to announce a new turf field and resurfaced track are coming soon to Sandburg Middle School in Glendora. I helped fulfill their community project funding request of $1.2 million to give the students the areas they need to run and play!

Last week, I presented a check for $500,000 to improve New Temple Park in South El Monte. I secured these funds to help improve lighting and irrigation in the park so families and kids can enjoy the park year-round!

Pioneer Park is getting an upgrade! I presented a check of $2 million to the City of El Monte to enhance the park facilities, improve this lively community hub, and expand green spaces in our area.

This is self inflicted chaos that didn’t have to happen. My sympathies go out to the families and loved ones of our fallen servicemembers.

In the 2026 funding bills, I proudly secured critical investments for our communities safety and security, including more than $1 million for the City of Covina to update their dispatch and emergency response system technology. This will not only benefit the Covina Police Department, it will also benefit other SGV agencies. Yesterday, I got to present them a check to these safety upgrades and thank our first responders for all they do for us.

Good news: safer streets for bikers are coming to the City of Industry! I presented a check for $1 million to the Industry Regional Safety and Mobility Project to begin construction on a new bikeway, making our community safer, more sustainable, and less congested. I’m proud to advocate for these needed improvements for the San Gabriel Valley.

Today, I visited Baldwin Park Family Service Center to present them with a $3.15 million check for the development of a modernized and expanded Teri G. Muse Family Service Center. The center brings together nonprofit organizations and community partners to provide social, economic, legal, and health resources to our neighbors in need. Strong families build our community, and I was proud to secure funding for this critical community resource!

It was wonderful to welcome our California State Senators and President Pro Tem @MoniqueLimonCA to DC last week! Our Democratic legislators at the state and federal levels are united and working to lower costs and protect Californians from Trump’s toxic agenda.

Harriet Tubman was an abolitionist and activist who dedicated her life to ensuring the freedom of many enslaved African Americans as the leader of the underground railroad. Today we celebrate her legacy as we’re reminded of what it means to live out the values of freedom.

Yesterday, the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy couldn’t or wouldn’t answer a simple question about the processes or concerns regarding moving our armed forces around the world. We should all have grave concerns about the lack of transparency from this department.
