I joined my colleagues to urge congressional leadership not to support any supplemental funding package until Congress passes federal disaster assistance for California. It is long overdue for President Trump to help our communities recover from the devastating LA wildfires.

President Trump requested $67 billion for his war in Iran while failing to request the $34 billion needed to help California recover from the devastating January 2025 LA wildfires. If there's money for another war, there must be money to help Americans rebuild their homes and communities.

Last week, I joined my Democratic colleagues to demand Secretary Hegseth reinstate flu vaccine mandates for our servicemembers. The flu outbreak at Lackland Air Force Base is a direct consequence of his repeal. Any policy affecting our servicemembers’ quality of life should be guided by science.

Last week, I spoke on the House floor to condemn the Trump administration’s recent disturbing decision to move the office overseeing special-education services out of the Department of Education. Trump is on a mission to shut down our education systems and he doesn’t care how much pain and suffering he inflicts. As a proud champion for students with special needs, I will do everything in my power to oppose this shameful decision and protect our disabled students’ rights.
