At today’s @HASCDemocrats hearing, I questioned @SecArmy on his position regarding the consolidation of the military’s overly complicated duty status system. I’m grateful that Secretary Driscoll is working on finding solutions that benefit our servicemembers and I hope our offices can work together to pass this commonsense reform. It’s time to get this legislation over the finish line and provide our servicemembers with the proper compensation and benefits they’ve earned.

This week, I voted for the 3rd time to support Congress’ right to declare war. The power to formally declare war has always belonged to Congress, not the president. Iran is a bad actor and should be held responsible, but the president has no right to wage war on a whim. His reckless actions endanger our military forces and make everyone less safe.

At today’s @HASCDemocrats hearing, I pressed the Chief of Navy Operations, Admiral Daryl Caudle, on what concerns he shared with the Secretary of Defense for the deployment extension of the USS Ford, a question both the Undersecretary of Policy and Secretary of Defense refused to answer when they came before the Committee. Keeping the ship at sea for so long posed serious challenges for the crew and could have long-term consequences for the ship's maintenance. I'm glad they're finally returning home and I’m committed to advocating for our sailors' quality of life and our national security.

Today, I joined Blue Star Families CEO Kathy Roth-Douquet and Mickey Mouse to make care packages for military and veteran kids. I'm proud to support our servicemembers, veterans and their families. Thank you for serving our country and protecting our freedoms.

This week, I voted to honor our fallen law enforcement officers and commemorate our community’s heroes lost in the line of duty. The legislation honors two officers, Officers Samuel Riveros and Terry Long, who gave their lives to keep the San Gabriel Valley safe. I’m eternally grateful for all the brave men and women who died protecting our community.

Today, I met with the American College of Physicians and we had a great discussion about healthcare access. I enjoyed learning about ACP’s advocacy for internal medicine physicians. I will always fight to protect our communities' access to quality and affordable healthcare.

The president just openly admitted he doesn’t care about the sky-high gas and energy prices Americans are facing because of his illegal war on Iran. He only cares about one person, himself. I'm horrified by the Trump administration's treatment of pregnant immigrant children in federal custody. They have a right to access safe medical and reproductive care. I joined 47 House Democrats in demanding answers from this administration.

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week! I am so grateful for all our incredible teachers in southern California that are working tirelessly to educate the next generation of leaders! Throughout the week, I’ll be recognizing teachers in CA-31 who went above and beyond  to help their students to succeed. Today I’m giving a shoutout to Mr. Rodriguez, a teacher at Azusa High School. He is devoted to helping his students learn and grow in the classroom, and his leadership has made a positive impact in our community. Thank you Mr Rodriguez for empowering our students to believe in themselves!

As a Catholic, I reject the president’s treatment of the first American Pope. I joined @CNN yesterday to express my agreement with the Pope’s stance against Trump’s illegal war on Iran.

I visited Haaker Underground in La Verne this week and heard from local equipment dealers about how the current administration’s tariff regime raises costs and hurts business. I enjoyed touring the facility and seeing the new agricultural and construction equipment. I’m grateful for the federal infrastructure projects that support our local small business owners in CA-31.

I’m proud to have secured +$3 million in community project funding for the San Gabriel Basin Water Quality Authority. I advocated for this critical funding to ensure our community continues to have access to clean drinking water. I’m grateful for their services and steadfast commitment to treating water for CA-31.

With the Congressional Baseball Game just a few months away, I had to take some advice from the best, the Charter Oaks Baseball team! Congratulations to the team for their recent Valley Vista League championship win! I joined their practice and got to see these talented athletes hard at work. I’m so proud to represent all the exceptional student-athletes in CA-31.

This National Small Business Week, I visited Lord Empanada in Monrovia and learned about how owner and founder Ryan Lopez turned his home kitchen recipes into a thriving local restaurant driven by family and community. I love supporting our local small businesses and seeing them bring our community together.

The American people are fed up with Trump’s illegal war on Iran and the sky-high gas prices it’s causing. I joined @CNN today to call for an end to the president’s expensive and unpopular war.
