Texas, as a major global tech and logistics hub, is directly in the crosshairs. Research shows that Korea’s targeting of U.S. companies could drain $525 billion from our economy over the next decade. This could mean a projected loss of over $42 billion in Texas, creating a significant financial burden for hardworking families.

I’m saddened by the sudden passing of Senator Lindsey Graham. Lorena and I send our condolences to his family, friends, staff, and the people of South Carolina during their time of grief.

It's absurd for someone in a different state to attempt to change the name of our beloved and historic Boca Chica Beach. It's even more absurd that the Commission responsible for approving or disapproving the proposal failed to give the people of Cameron County enough time to make their voices heard. While I am relieved this proposal was rejected, I want to ensure our South Texas treasure remains protected. I am working on legislation to make the Boca Chica Beach name permanent.

With nearly five decades of providing pediatric care to South Texas children, Dr. Romeo Montalvo has played a crucial role in keeping our region healthy. I recently toured the facility and spoke with their leadership and health care providers, who are dedicated to improving the health and quality of life for families in the Rio Grande Valley. I remain committed to supporting our local health centers as they provide care to our communities!

This proposal is officially REJECTED! South Texans quickly banded together to make their voices heard, and my office was on the phone earlier today with the US Department of the Interior, advocating that the Domestic Names Committee reject this proposal and retain Boca Chica Beach’s historic name. Boca Chica Beach is part of our South Texas fabric. It is, and always will be, the People's Beach.

Boca Chica Beach is the People’s Beach, and we deserve to have a say in any proposal to rename it. It’s unacceptable that the U.S. Board on Geographic Names’ Domestic Names Committee scheduled a vote TODAY at 2pm to consider a name change and gave the community less than 24 hours to respond. I strongly oppose the renaming of Boca Chica Beach to Cyber Beach, and hope this proposal fails.

For 48 years, Dr. Romeo Montalvo has proudly served as a dedicated and trusted pediatrician for families across South Texas. Today, I had the great honor of presenting Dr. Montalvo with a Congressional Record to recognize his compassion and commitment to the wellbeing of our community! With shrimping season around the corner, local shrimpers like E.J. Cuevas are facing uncertainty due to foreign imports and the Administration’s policies increasing costs on fuel prices and exacerbating severe labor shortages. The result? Higher seafood prices at our local restaurants. I’ll keep pushing for the Administration to protect seafood operations along the Gulf Coast and release more H-2B visas to ensure our shrimpers and small family-owned businesses have the workers they need to serve our region.
