HUGE WIN!!!  My amendment to STOP foreign adversaries from purchasing American farmland has PASSED!  It makes zero sense why we would allow our enemies to own AMERICAN land. It should never have been allowed in the first place.

Over 45 million acres of U.S. agricultural land are already owned by foreign investors, and it’s growing! Why would we allow China, Russia, Iran, and other hostile regimes to control land in the United States? This amendment puts American Farmers FIRST!

In Florida, hospital consolidation is driving up costs. Off-campus outpatient facilities are charging full hospital rates for care that looks no different than a regular doctor’s office. I pressed hospital executives at the @WaysandMeansGOP Hearing on why patients are being charged more with no meaningful difference in care… We need real transparency and lower costs for Florida families.

A constituent from Venice recently brought an issue to our office that Catholic veterans are currently unable to have a crucifix on their headstone at VA cemeteries. So I led a letter to the VA urging this policy change and got 45 colleagues to sign in support! And now the House is already taking steps to direct the VA to make the change. Our veterans fought for this country. They should be laid to rest with the dignity and honor they so rightfully deserve, including the ability for Catholic veterans to have a crucifix on their headstone. The House passed the SAVE America Act and fully funded DHS. Over 80% of Americans support this. And 4 Senate RINOs are still blocking it. The American people gave us the majority to secure the border and our elections. The House delivered. The Senate needs to end the filibuster and pass it.

This legislation extends tax relief and greater certainty to Americans rebuilding after hurricanes, wildfires, floods, and other federally declared disasters. Honor Flights give veterans the chance to visit the memorials built in their honor and reflect on their service. Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family isn’t comedy- his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America. People like Kimmel shouldn’t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate. A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him. Enough is enough.  It is time for ABC to take a stand.  How many times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community.

Although we don’t yet have the details about the motives behind last night's shooting at the White House Correspondents Dinner, it’s incumbent upon all us to reject the idea that violence has any place in our democracy. It’s also a sobering reminder of the courage and sacrifice that U.S. Secret Service Agents show every day. I’m grateful to them – and thankful that the agent who was shot is going to be okay.
