After much consideration and prayer, I have decided not to seek another term in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Thank you to the voters in the 58th Assembly District for entrusting me with the confidence to represent you in Madison. It has been a great honor!

I’m proud to say that AB 237 has been signed into law, extending Wisconsin’s Safe Haven surrender window to 30 days and giving parents in crisis more time to make the right decision. Grateful to everyone who helped get this bipartisan bill across the finish line.

Spring is right around the corner - this means longer and warmer days after a long winter. As today is Daylight Saving Time, remember to set your clocks ahead tonight and enjoy the extra hour of sunlight.

Speaker Robin Vos has announced his retirement from the Wisconsin State Assembly. It has been an honor to serve alongside him and work under his leadership. I wish him and his family the very best in this next chapter!

You can’t veto relief and then claim to fix affordability. My full response to the State of the State:

This week I met with the Wisconsin Credit Union League to discuss legislative priorities and expanding financial literacy in our schools. Giving students real-world money skills is a commonsense step that strengthens our workforce and economy.

Today, on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we remember the millions of lives lost due to hatred. We remember the victims, honor the survivors, and recommit ourselves to standing against antisemitism and all forms of hate so that these horrors are never repeated.

Today in the Assembly, we took action to protect Wisconsin from foreign adversaries. I voted in favor of legislation that prevents dangerous foreign governments from exploiting Wisconsin businesses, universities, and taxpayer-funded research.

Today we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. His message of dignity, equality, and service reminds us of the importance of treating one another with respect and working together to strengthen our communities.

I was honored to recognize Coach Bill Jacklin as a Hometown Hero of the 58th Assembly District. A lifelong Slinger native, educator, and head varsity football coach. His leadership and commitment to young people continue to make a lasting impact on the Slinger community.

Today is Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. Thank you to the men and women who serve our communities with dedication and courage! We are grateful for your commitment to keeping Wisconsin safe.

As we prepare to celebrate Christmas, we’re reminded of the importance of faith, family, and community. This season is a time to slow down, reflect on the birth of Christ, and come together. My office and I wish you peace, joy, and a meaningful holiday season.

Last Friday I had the opportunity to view construction apprentices from our district compete in the ABC Wisconsin Skills Competition. These apprentices show why skilled trades are vital to Wisconsin. I’m proud to support pathways into these careers. Congrats to all who competed!

This Sunday marks the 84th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack on our nation. This tragic day forever changed the course of our history as well as that of the entire world. Let us never forget the brave sacrifice of many and the lessons of that day.

Earlier this week, I met with constituents who are members of the American Physical Therapy Association. We discussed issues in the PT field such as prior authorization. It was great to meet with them and they did an excellent job advocating for their profession.

Today, the Assembly passed AB 156, also known as "Erin's Law." This legislation will empower kids to recognize abuse, protect themselves, and speak out. Erin’s Law has already passed in 38 states, and I look forward to Wisconsin becoming the 39th.

On Wednesday evening, I had the pleasure to sit on the Washington County Youth Leadership Board's State Legislator panel. I am thankful to have been invited and hope to do it again in the future. It's always great to play a role in inspiring the next generation of leaders.

Yesterday, I testified on Assembly Bill 200 with Senator Feyen in the Assembly Committee on Transportation. This bill relates to administrative allowance on diesel fuel. AB 200 is a good correction to help struggling fuel retailers who are facing increased costs and regulations.

Today we honor all who have served our country. Their courage and selfless sacrifice should never be overlooked. Thank you, veterans.
