I represent Colorado’s Third District, and I will always put our communities first. When I took office, I swore an oath to the Constitution and to the people I serve. Every vote I cast is guided by what is best for this district and the long-term strength of our country. Leadership requires independent judgment and the willingness to stand on principle. My focus remains on delivering results for rural Colorado: • Strengthening American energy production • Supporting our farmers and ranchers • Restoring fiscal discipline • Protecting our water resources • Backing our veterans and law enforcement That’s the job I was elected to do — and I’ll keep doing it with conviction, optimism, and a deep gratitude for the people I serve.

It was great to join producers, hunters, outfitters, and community members at the Circle the Wagons Social in Grand Junction, focused on protecting Western Colorado’s hunting, agriculture, wildlife management, and growing concerns surrounding wolf reintroduction efforts. People in rural Colorado are the ones living with the consequences of these decisions everyday. I remain opposed to continued wolf translocation and will continue supporting practical wildlife management, protecting water rights, and standing with the rural communities that are the backbone of the West. #CO03

Joined Rio Blanco County Commissioners Callie Scritchfield and Doug Overton, CNCC leadership, aviation faculty, and students in Rangely to celebrate $643,000 in Congressionally Directed Spending that I worked to help secure for improvements at the Rangely Airport. This funding will help modernize aging hangar, classroom, and terminal facilities used by Colorado Northwestern Community College’s aviation program, local pilots, and county operations. Investments like this strengthen workforce training, support wildfire response, and help create long-term economic opportunity in Northwest Colorado and across #CO03.

Before coming to Congress, I worked closely with electric cooperatives across rural Colorado and saw firsthand the important role they play in keeping communities connected and powered. That experience continues to inform the work I’m doing in Washington. Rural electric co-ops are essential to #CO03, and I’ll continue working on practical priorities like permitting reform, wildfire mitigation, and infrastructure reliability to help ensure rural Colorado has access to affordable, reliable energy for the long term. Appreciate @NRECANews highlighting this work in their latest Lawmaker Profile.

It was an honor to meet with the Artemis II crew and congratulate them on their successful lunar mission. Missions like Artemis II reflect the innovation, discipline, and determination that continue to define American leadership in space exploration. Proud that Colorado engineers played a major role in developing the Orion spacecraft that carried the crew around the moon and back. Congratulations to the entire Artemis II crew on this remarkable milestone. #CO03

Low snowpack and dry conditions will make this a challenging water year across much of the Western Slope. This week in Mesa County, I joined local water managers, ranchers, agricultural producers, Commissioner Bobbie Daniel, and Colorado River Water Conservation District General Manager Andy Mueller to discuss drought conditions, irrigation operations, and what comes next for rural Colorado agriculture. I was encouraged by the cooperation happening on the ground as communities work together to protect Colorado agriculture and strengthen long-term water reliability. I’ll keep working to support practical, locally driven solutions that help rural communities adapt and move forward. #CO03

Yesterday, I toured the Orchard Mesa Irrigation District (OMID) in Palisade with District Manager Jackie Fisher, members of the OMID Board of Directors, Colorado Farm Bureau, and American Rivers to see firsthand the infrastructure that helps deliver reliable water to communities and agriculture across Western Colorado. Jackie and I also filmed a short video at the OMID Check, an important part of managing Colorado River water operations and water rights throughout the region. We discussed the recent $12 million investment from the Department of the Interior and Bureau of Reclamation to help OMID and the Grand Valley Water Users Association convert open canals into pressurized pipelines. Across Western and Southern Colorado, reliable water infrastructure is foundational to our communities, agriculture, and local economies. Projects like these help strengthen long-term water management, improve efficiency, and make sure rural communities have the certainty and resources they need for the future. Appreciate the partnership and the important work being done to support water users across the Grand Valley and the Western Slope. #CO03

In Western and Southern Colorado, hunting is more than recreation. It supports local jobs, drives tourism, strengthens small businesses, and remains an important part of the way of life in communities across #CO03. Recently, I sat down with brothers Jim and Mark Johnson, owners and operators of Elk Glade Ranch Outfitters, to talk about the role outfitters and guides play in our local economy and the importance of protecting hunting access for future generations. We discussed the need to keep public lands accessible for sportsmen, protect Second Amendment rights, and make sure wildlife and land management decisions are guided by local knowledge and sound science — not one-size-fits-all policies handed down from Washington. Outfitters like Elk Glade Ranch help sustain jobs, support conservation, and preserve traditions that matter to rural Colorado. I’ll continue working to protect hunting access, support the small businesses that help drive our rural economies, and defend the constitutional rights of gun owners across Colorado’s Third District.

This week is National Police Week, an important opportunity to recognize the law enforcement officers across Western and Southern Colorado who put on the badge every day to serve and protect the people of #CO03. I recently attended a memorial service for fallen law enforcement officers alongside my colleagues in the Law Enforcement Caucus, including Rep. Crank and Rep. Evans from Colorado. Held at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, the service was a powerful reminder of the sacrifices officers and their families make every day to keep our communities safe. Thank you to National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial CEO Bill Alexander for his remarks, and thank you to every law enforcement officer serving Colorado’s Third District. #NationalPoliceWeek

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms across #CO03 and the country. One of the most important things we can tell new and expecting mothers is this: you are not alone. Moms.gov launches today as a centralized resource connecting families with maternal health care, childcare support, adoption information, mental health resources, and other services available nationwide. Making those resources easier to find is a practical step that can help strengthen families and support parents during some of the most important years of family life. Check out moms.gov for more information!

Happy Mother’s Day to my incredible wife, Barbora, and to mothers across #CO03. Mothers carry an extraordinary responsibility and hold families together through sacrifice, strength, patience, and constant care that often goes unseen. Today is a chance to thank the women who shape our homes, our communities, and the next generation through that daily work. Grateful for all the mothers across Western and Southern Colorado. Happy Mother’s Day. 🌸

Last week, President Trump signed the DHS Appropriations bill into law, including $869,000 for the Douglas Wash Detention Basin Project in Mesa County. This project will help construct two detention ponds designed to protect homes, agricultural property, roads, and critical infrastructure from severe flooding and 100-year flood events. In Western Colorado, flood protection is not theoretical. It directly affects families, farms, and communities. Mesa County identified a real need, and I was proud to work with local leaders to help secure this investment before the next major storm hits. This is the kind of practical work that matters for #CO03.

Wildfire risk keeps growing across the West. We cannot keep waiting years to do commonsense fuel reduction and land management work. That’s why I introduced the Forest Health and Wildfire Risk Reduction Act. congress.gov/bill/119th-con… #CO03

I was recently invited to speak to more than 1,500 electric cooperative leaders, including CEOs, senior staff, and board members, at the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.   My remarks focused on the importance of reliable, affordable energy and the unique role electric cooperatives play in serving rural communities like those across Colorado’s Third District. We discussed the challenges co-ops face in maintaining infrastructure across large service territories, meeting growing demand, and navigating federal policy decisions that directly impact their operations.   Conversations like these are about staying connected to the people on the ground every day, so we can make sure rural America has practical, reliable solutions to keep the power on and communities moving forward. #CO03

This week I toured the Grand Junction VA Medical Center with Secretary of Veterans Affairs Doug Collins and the hospital’s leadership team. We heard directly from veterans, providers, and staff about the care being delivered across Western Colorado and the importance of timely, reliable access to services in a large rural region. The Grand Junction VA remains the only CMS 5-star rated hospital in the region, a reflection of the work being done every day by the people serving veterans in this part of #CO03. Thank you to Secretary Collins for visiting Grand Junction and to the entire VA team for serving those who served our country.

Today is National Nurses Day, and I want to recognize the nurses across Western and Southern Colorado who serve our communities every day. From hospitals and clinics to schools and long-term care facilities, nurses are often there during life’s most difficult moments. They play an essential role in keeping our healthcare system running and ensuring patients and families receive the care they need. Earlier today, I stopped by Community Hospital to thank a few nurses in person for the work they do every day to care for patients across the Western Slope. Their compassion, professionalism, and steady commitment help keep #CO03 healthy and strong. Thank you for serving our communities with such exceptional care and dedication.

Yesterday, I joined Secretary of Veterans Affairs Doug Collins at Colorado Mesa University for a roundtable with veterans, VA leaders, and community partners from across Western Colorado. We heard directly from veterans about the challenges many still face navigating the VA system, especially during the transition to civilian life, accessing benefits, and communicating with the VA. We also discussed mental health support, improving access to care, and modernizing the VA’s systems to better serve veterans and their families. #CO03 is home to thousands of veterans, and these conversations are critical to ensuring they receive the care and support they have earned through their service. Thank you to Secretary Collins for visiting Grand Junction and to the veterans who shared their experiences and perspectives today. @SecVetAffairs

Last week, the Science, Space, and Technology Committee advanced bipartisan legislation focused on quantum technology and America’s long-term competitiveness. Quantum research will shape the future of computing, cybersecurity, communications, and national defense. The countries that lead in these technologies will have major economic and strategic advantages in the decades ahead. Colorado is already at the forefront, with world-class universities, researchers, and national labs driving innovation right here in our state. My focus is making sure the United States stays ahead and that communities like #CO03 benefit from the jobs, investment, and technological leadership that come with it.
