I represent Colorado’s Third District, and I will always put our communities first. When I took office, I swore an oath to the Constitution and to the people I serve. Every vote I cast is guided by what is best for this district and the long-term strength of our country. Leadership requires independent judgment and the willingness to stand on principle. My focus remains on delivering results for rural Colorado: • Strengthening American energy production • Supporting our farmers and ranchers • Restoring fiscal discipline • Protecting our water resources • Backing our veterans and law enforcement That’s the job I was elected to do — and I’ll keep doing it with conviction, optimism, and a deep gratitude for the people I serve.

Met with Colorado fire chiefs to discuss how we prepare for wildfire season and support communities across #CO03. Appreciate Chief Leif Sackett of Colorado River Fire Rescue, Chief Randy Black of Durango Fire and Rescue, and Ken Watkins, Executive Director of the Colorado State Fire Chiefs and former Grand Junction Fire Chief, for sharing their perspective from the front lines. We talked about readiness, resources, and the challenges of operating in a dry, high-risk environment. Their experience is critical to protecting lives and property as wildfire risk continues to grow across Colorado’s Third District.

Today, H.R. 556, the Protecting Access for Hunters and Anglers Act, passed the House. I co-sponsored this bill to ensure continued access to hunting and fishing and to prevent unnecessary federal restrictions on ammunition and tackle. With millions of acres of public land in #CO03, access to these lands is essential for sportsmen across our region. This legislation helps keep decisions grounded in sound science and practical impacts, not policies that increase costs or limit participation in the outdoors.

Proud to introduce the Don Young–Doug LaMalfa Indian Buffalo Management Act with Teresa Leger Fernández, Julie Fedorchak, and Dan Newhouse. This bipartisan bill supports tribes and tribal organizations in managing buffalo herds, restoring habitat, and expanding economic opportunities tied to conservation. Buffalo have long been central to the history, culture, and livelihoods of tribal communities. This legislation puts tribes in the lead, ensuring conservation efforts are driven by those best positioned to sustain and manage these herds for the long term. #CO03 🦬

This week is National Agriculture Week, and I’m glad to recognize the farmers, ranchers, and producers who keep #CO03 running. Over the past year, I’ve spent time on operations across Western and Southern Colorado, hearing directly about the challenges and opportunities facing agriculture today. Those conversations shape the work we’re doing in Washington. Agriculture is the backbone of our region. It supports jobs, sustains rural communities, and helps feed the country. As we work toward the next Farm Bill, my focus is making sure our producers have the tools, certainty, and support they need to stay competitive and keep producing for generations to come. 🇺🇸

Met with Dylan Heberlein of Grand Junction Regional Airport and members of the Colorado Airport Operators Association to discuss the role regional airports play across #CO03. These airports are essential to keeping rural communities strong and competitive. They connect residents, support local businesses, and drive economic growth across Western and Southern Colorado. I also shared an update on my bill, H.R. 6168, the Airport TIFIA Financing Certainty Act, which expands financing options for airport infrastructure so communities can invest in safe, reliable air service.

Met with members of the National Onion Association to discuss the role specialty crops play in Colorado agriculture. Growers across #CO03 produce crops that support local jobs, sustain rural communities, and strengthen our agricultural economy. These producers help keep our food supply strong while supporting the towns and families that depend on agriculture every day. Good to hear directly from the people doing the work on the ground.

Last week I chaired the House Indian and Insular Subcommittee hearing focused on legislation to strengthen Tribal communities and expand economic opportunity in Indian Country. We examined several bipartisan bills aimed at supporting economic development, cutting unnecessary red tape, and addressing administrative barriers that can delay projects in Tribal communities. It was also good to welcome Appropriations Chairman Tom Cole to testify and share his perspective. Chairman Cole has long been a strong voice for Tribal communities, and his leadership continues to help advance practical solutions that support Tribal self-determination and economic growth. #CO03

Delivering results for Colorado’s Third District. $58.9 million in federal funding will improve the corridor between Durango and Bayfield from Elmore’s Corner to Dry Creek. This investment will strengthen a critical transportation link in La Plata County, support more than 800 jobs, and make travel safer for the families and businesses who rely on this road every day. Projects like this reduce dangerous crashes, ease congestion, and keep communities connected across Southwest Colorado. #CO03

Met with the Colorado Wool Growers Association last week to talk about the challenges facing sheep producers across #CO03 and the Western Slope. We discussed grazing access on federal lands, wolf management, and the importance of wildlife services and animal health programs that help ranchers protect their herds. Sheep ranching has deep roots in Colorado, and the producers carrying on that tradition continue to strengthen our rural communities.

The shooting at the synagogue in West Bloomfield, Michigan is a stark reminder of the rise of antisemitism in our country. My prayers are with the Jewish community in Michigan and across the nation. We must always stand firmly against violence, hatred, and antisemitism. reuters.com/world/us/activ…

Congratulations to the wrestlers from #CO03 who competed in the Colorado State Wrestling Tournament this year! Both the Pueblo Central Girls team and the Pueblo East Boys team each took home championship titles, making this the second time in two years both teams have won these titles. A special shout-out to Traven Sharon from Fowler High School for winning his fourth consecutive CO state title! 🤼🏆

Agriculture remains the backbone of many communities across Colorado’s Third District. Last week, I met with Steve Ela of Ela Family Farms, a fourth-generation fruit grower in Hotchkiss, stopped by the office to talk about the role organic specialty crops play in our regional economy. Fruit growers across #CO03 help supply fresh food to communities throughout Colorado and beyond. These conversations help inform the policies we pursue in Washington to ensure Colorado agriculture remains strong and competitive.

Families across Colorado’s Third District work hard every day to provide for their kids. The Working Families Tax Cuts increase the Child Tax Credit to $2,200 per child and is indexed to inflation so parents can keep more of their hard-earned money. That means real help with the everyday costs of raising a family, from groceries and childcare to school supplies and activities. Strong families are the foundation of strong communities, and this policy ensures families across Western and Southern Colorado can keep more of what they earn.

Dennis Coyle is a constituent of mine from Colorado’s Third District.  My sincere thanks to Secretary Rubio and President Trump for these efforts to secure the release of Dennis and all Americans being held in Afghanistan. My office will continue working to bring Dennis home safely to his family. No American should be unjustly detained abroad. #CO03 @POTUS @SecRubio

Colorado’s Third District is home to thousands of veterans who served our nation with distinction. Last week I met with Colorado members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion to hear directly about the issues facing veterans. We discussed the transition to civilian life, support for veterans dealing with PTSD, and making sure the VA delivers the benefits our veterans have earned. Grateful for their leadership, and for the service of every veteran in #CO03.

Met with House Agriculture Committee Chairman GT Thompson as the Farm Bill moves closer to the House floor. For #CO03, this legislation matters. Agriculture drives jobs and economic activity across our district: from cattle and hay producers to potato farmers, fruit growers, and specialty crops throughout the Western Slope and southern Colorado. The Farm Bill supports agricultural research, rural development, and market access that help our farmers and ranchers stay competitive and continue feeding the country.

Premium subsidies may ease the pressure for families today, but they don’t fix the underlying problems in our health care system. Last week I joined colleagues in the Problem Solvers Caucus to discuss why lasting reform requires structural changes and genuine bipartisan work. It was great to spend time with Carlyle Currier of the Colorado Farm Bureau. The Farm Bureau plays a critical role in representing the interests of farmers, ranchers, and rural communities across our state. Their perspective is invaluable to me as Congress works on issues that directly affect agriculture, land use, water policy, and rural economic development. Colorado producers feed our communities and power our rural economy. Their voices truly matter in my office. #CO03
