Our base should not have to beg @SenMcConnell and @LeaderJohnThune to pass something as critical as securing and safeguarding our elections. Period.  I can't think of anything more arrogant than ignoring the will of the people, especially when they're the ones who gave us majorities in the House and Senate. This inaction will not only cost us in the midterms but will also cost our republic.

Two years ago today, they tried to silence President Trump with a bullet. They failed.  His response was not fear. It was determination. He got back up, fought on, and never backed down from his commitment to putting America First.  No amount of intimidation will stop the fight for secure borders, a strong economy, and the freedoms our nation was built upon.  We will remember that day and keep fighting for the future of this country.

"We don't have the votes" isn't a strategy. It's a white flag. If John Thune was the kind of leader he ought to be, he wouldn't just end the filibuster. He would LEAD and get his caucus on board. House Republicans have one of the slimmest majorities in history. There's almost always 3-4 of us who disagree on any bill. Yet, time and time again @SpeakerJohnson has found a way to get us all on the same page and get the job done.

My political hero happens to be our first president. George Washington believed in a legislature made up of everyday folks. He believed that elected officials should serve for a season and go home. I would wager that he would feel the same about bureaucrats with authority. If you stay too long, you end up corrupt. @POTUS is exactly right. It’s time to support term limits for the Senate parliamentarian.
