Trump has declared war on Iran without exhausting nonviolent alternatives, without a long-term plan, and without any legal authorization.  Wasting billions in a destabilizing bloody conflict, even though directed at a despicable regime, he imperils the lives of Americans and innocent civilians throughout the region. Choosing war is not “peace through strength;” it only distracts from his many failures here at home.  With war so much easier to get into than to get out of, every member of Congress can vote this week to restrain Trump by adopting a bipartisan war powers resolution.

What a great bargaining chip! Telling Zambia: unless you let us plunder your natural resources, we will stop all assistance to prevent the spread of malaria, tuberculosis, and AIDS. And Trump is doing this in other countries as well. Just another indication of how his regime has abandoned American values.

Helpful discussion today in our Capitol with European parliamentarians through the Transatlantic Legislators’ Dialogue. Trump’s threats and trade war have jeopardized this vital partnership. His appalling version of dialogue with Europe is like that he has with our compliant GOP Congress—follow my commands. Trump hit American families and businesses with illegal tariff taxes—and now he’s dragging his feet on giving the money back. Courts say it must be refunded, but small businesses and consumers in Austin are still waiting.

This is the kind of appalling action which occurs when our government is taken over by fanatics. DOGE employees used ChatGPT to decide which government grants to cancel, defending the flagging of a documentary about Jewish women who were slave laborers in the Holocaust as "inherently related to DEI." There are not two sides to the Holocaust. This is the kind of outrageous nonsense in which DOGE engaged rather than focused on real opportunities for greater efficiencies in federal operations.

Thousands of Americans are demanding refunds on the illegal tariff taxes Trump forced them to pay. Now Malaysia has declared his trade deal null and void. Trump's tariff chaos is failing at home AND abroad.

The Trump regime doesn't want reporters. It wants only cheerleaders who ignore its repeated lies. Trump is on track to join fellow authoritarians around the world in suppressing media coverage that doesn't conform with his propaganda.

Another Embassy under fire due to Trump’s reckless war of choice. In Baghdad — where Republicans previously poured nearly $1B into construction of a massive complex despite our determined opposition — American diplomats remain in the crosshairs. More American lives at risk and billions more now being wasted in Trump’s illegal war.

Republicans continue to make the public servants at TSA, Coast Guard and FEMA bear the burden of the reform that’s needed at ICE. I am working alongside my Democratic colleagues to bring relief to workers, while holding ICE accountable for its wrongdoing.

With the price of oil soaring and Trump still entangled with Iran, he is already trying to change the subject. Our “acting President of Venezuela,” who claims he can pick the next leader of Iran, now declares that he can do “anything I want” with Cuba. He really does believe that he is king of the universe, but we will ultimately have to pay the price for his recklessness.

Friday, Trump's incompetent Secretary Hegseth said we "don't need to worry" about the Strait of Hormuz. Now, “go-it-alone” Trump is begging, then threatening other countries to help him fix the disastrous and dangerous self-described "mess" he has created.  
After declining to consult with allies before launching his reckless war of choice, and spending the past year insulting them, Trump now finds he needs them. The world economy, other countries, and American families are bearing the cost of his arrogant, reckless war.

After leaving our servicemembers unprotected from Iranian attack, Trump’s political action committee is now fundraising off of their unnecessary deaths. His betrayal of his office continues with shameful disregard of the well-being of the troops he promised to protect.

Tens of thousands in Lebanon are once again caught in the crossfire between Hezbollah and Netanyahu. More than 850 people, at least 107 of them children, have been killed. Israeli evacuation orders and airstrikes have forced 800,000 people from their homes. If he has any real interest in peace, Trump should immediately demand both Netanyahu and Hezbollah reach a durable ceasefire agreement, support the Lebanese army in seizing Hezbollah’s missiles, and sponsor eventual direct peace talks between Lebanon and Israel.

Another gift from Trump to his pal Putin.  This enables the Russians to continue killing long suffering, Ukrainian civilians. Of course, Trump’s reckless war against Iran is his greatest gift to the Russian war criminal.

At today’s press conference, Hegseth used most of his firepower to attack the American press, especially CNN. “The sooner that David Ellison takes over that network, the better.” Clearly, he foresees more suppression.   His “patriotic press” is one that accepts Trump regime lies in order to sell this reckless war to the American people.
