Gov. Shapiro gave his Budget Address today, and he said he'd like to increase spending by $2.72 billion, for a total of $53.26 billion. Pennsylvania families will suffer the consequences of Gov. Shapiro’s fiscal recklessness long after he is gone. #PA92 #UncommonInsanity

Gov. Shapiro's proposed budget of $53.26 billion is fiscally foolish. He wants the state to spend $6.8 billion more than we bring in. Your family wouldn't spend more than your income, and our government shouldn't either. #PA92 #UncommonInsanity #NoNewTaxes

Governor Shapiro is either out of touch or thinks you can't do basic math. His irresponsible budget hikes will require a major increase in revenue that can only be obtained through higher taxes. #PALeg #UncommonInsanity

@SpotlightPA "This budget doesn't raise taxes — in fact, it continues to cut taxes," Shapiro says. "And it doesn't require a broad-based tax increase today, tomorrow, or at any point in the next five years." Mhm.

It's #NationalSchoolChoiceWeek! I'm touring different types of schools across Pennsylvania to showcase how many choices our students have here in the Commonwealth. It is critical that we provide access to education that best fits the needs of our kids. Stay tuned! #KidsFirst

Humbled to announce that I have been appointed to the @PA_PSERS board to replace former Rep. Ecker. Read statements from Leader Topper and I below. #PALeg #PA92

One year ago, I was sworn into the PA House. Though this year hasn't been easy or everything I have expected, it has been an honor to represent one of the best places to live, Northern York County. Here's to another great year! #PA92

Last week in the House we held a vote on an amendment to the Constitution that would allow abortion until birth. There may have been 120 of my 203 colleagues in attendance. It is unacceptable that members will not show up and do their job. #PA92 #DoYourJob

I am disgusted that just over half the House is present for debate on a constitutional amendment allowing abortion up to birth. Regardless of position or party, everyone - unless there is a genuine reason - should be here. #PALeg

And so it begins: the inevitable shuttering of cyber charters in the wake of massive funding cuts. Though Dems claimed to only want to "reform" cyber charters, their goal has always been to ensure that 65k kids do not have an option to learn in a way that works best for them.

After a months-long budget impasse, lawmakers in Harrisburg came to an agreement today that the Governor signed into law. I voted no. Here's why:

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to join @SenatorKeefer and Rep. D'Orsie for a cyber charter school roundtable discussion hosted by @RepGleim. It is critical students have a choice to learn in the environment that works best for them. #KidsFirst #SchoolChoice

The federal "Troops to Teachers" program changed my life, and I'm excited to see a similar program implemented in PA. I look forward to future collaboration with my colleagues on the other side of the aisle to meet the individual needs of all students within our Commonwealth.

Here in Pennsylvania, we’re coming together to support our veterans, expand our workforce, and create more pathways to opportunity. Today, I signed bipartisan legislation allowing veterans with work experience to more easily get their CTE teaching certification. Our servicemembers spend years learning valuable skills – and they have a lot to give the next generation of Pennsylvania leaders in the classroom.

Your job is to shut up, sit down, and do exactly what Leader Bradford tells you to do. Performative politics come before the people in Harrisburg. #PALeg

The resolution has been buried by Majority Leader Bradford since August! If you are a rank and file PA Democrat there's no dissent, no diversion from the scripted narrative, no diversity of thought, and certainly no voting your own will.

Yesterday, we voted on a $50 billion budget, which spends $5 billion more than we take in. Instead, we could have voted on a resolution to provide full funding to every school, county, service, etc. at current levels while negotiations continue. 🧵

House Democrats called up four gun-control bills for votes this week, and I voted “no” on every one of them. We have laws on the books already that would address these issues without violating the Constitution. I will always stand up for your Second Amendment rights. #PA92 #PALeg

Yesterday, I voted against reporting HB 1701 out of committee. This bill would create a School Facilities Inventory within the Dept of Ed. Under HB 1701, approximately 4,300 buildings would be assessed across the commonwealth at an unknown cost to Pennsylvania taxpayers. #PALeg

There is still no budget deal in Harrisburg. PA House Democrats have instead decided that the best use of our time would be to clarify custody of pets in divorce cases. #PALeg
