The State Department says Haiti is so dangerous that Americans should leave DNA samples before traveling there.
Yet at the same time, the Trump Administration is trying to force 350,000 Haitian TPS holders to return.
The hypocrisy is staggering.
We passed a bill to extend Haiti TPS in the House. Now it's time for the Senate to do the same.

It's been one year since President Trump issued his anti-homeless Executive Order. Since then, his administration has used it as a blueprint for sweeping policy changes that are harming our communities and making homelessness worse.
We need safe, affordable housing, supportive services, and to treat every person with dignity — because solving homelessness helps us all. I'll never stop fighting until housing is a human right for everyone.

After three people died in encounters involving ICE this month, the FBI is now being told to stop investigating confrontations involving ICE.
We need more accountability and transparency for ICE, and instead the Trump Admin is pushing for the opposite.
That's why I'm fighting for the Right to Record Act to hold ICE accountable.

I'm a NO on the Stop Insider Trading Act. Why?
Because it doesn't actually ban congressional stock trading. It leaves loopholes for Members of Congress and the Trump Administration to continue profiting from privileged information — all while adding provisions that would make it harder to vote by mail.
We need real action to end corruption, but this bill isn't it.

One of the biggest crimes happening in this country is wage theft.
And it's happening right here in Orlando.
That's why I'm demanding answers from the Patina Group regarding alleged wage violations affecting workers at EPCOT.
No worker should ever be cheated out of the paycheck they earned. orlandoweekly.com/news/orlando-a…

The national Museum of African American History and Culture tells the whole story. How Americans came together to fight Jim Crow and take on racism. @RepMaxwellFrost is right: Trump's White House deciding historical interpretation is political censorship.

Our winning piece for the 2026 Congressional Art Competition, “Por Lo Menos Te Tengo a Ti" ("At Least I Have You")” is now hanging in the halls of the U.S. Capitol! The artist, Alejandra Diaz Sosa, from Central FL’s Winter Park High School, flew up for the occasion and I got to show her around.
I’m excited for the countless visitors and members of Congress who will experience her art as they walk the halls of Congress. Congratulations, Alejandra!

Voting rights are an essential right of democracy. But between partisan gerrymandering and attacks on voting rights, we are facing a coordinated effort to undermine Black representation in this country.
Recently, I met with local officials and community leaders who want to ensure Floridians feel safe and educated to vote in upcoming elections. At every level of government, we're going to keep fighting to protect and expand the freedom to vote.

It is heartbreaking that another community has been devastated by ICE's violence and lawlessness.
Under Trump, more than 50 people have died in immigration detention. At least 21 people have been shot in encounters with ICE agents, and this is the second person killed by ICE in the last week alone.
None of this is normal. We need an immediate end to this brutality.
As we await more information, my heart is with the loved ones of the victim and the entire Biddeford community.
