Over 495,000 Floridians have lost food assistance since Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill" became law a year ago. We should be expanding food assistance — not ripping it away as grocery costs continue to skyrocket.

Haitian families deserve certainty, not fear. While the Supreme Court allowed the Trump Administration to move forward with ending TPS, Congress can still act. The House passed a bipartisan TPS extension for Haiti. Now, the Senate needs to finish the job.

The State Department says Haiti is so dangerous that Americans should leave DNA samples before traveling there. Yet at the same time, the Trump Administration is trying to force 350,000 Haitian TPS holders to return. The hypocrisy is staggering. We passed a bill to extend Haiti TPS in the House. After three people died in encounters involving ICE this month, the FBI is now being told to stop investigating confrontations involving ICE. We need more accountability and transparency for ICE, and instead the Trump Admin is pushing for the opposite. That's why I'm fighting for the Right to Record Act to hold ICE accountable.

At least 21 people have been shot in encounters with ICE agents, and this is the second person killed by ICE in the last week alone. None of this is normal. We need an immediate end to this brutality. As we await more information, my heart is with the loved ones of the victim and the entire Biddeford community.
