‘GOBYERNONG SACHET’ Tinawag ni Akbayan Rep. Today the President will deliver his 2nd to the last State of the Nation Address. Opportunity ito ng mamamayan to measure his accomplishments. Pero nitong nakaraang apat na taon: tinimbang siya, ngunit kulang. The President's indecisiveness and weak leadership has hampered efforts to solve the problems that haunt our people. Naging kapos ang tugon ng kanyang administrasyon sa pagsupil sa korapsyon, pagbigay ng konkretong solusyon sa kakarampot na kita at nagtataasang mga bayarin, at paglikha ng disenteng trabaho at hanapbuhay para sa lahat. Last two minutes na ito ng administrasyon. We need action and results. Ubos na ang pasensya ng taumbayan.

With all due respect to the Senator-Judge at para hindi maligaw ang publiko, ito po ang konteksto at kumpleto na sinabi ko: “(Ang fishing expedition) ay maaaring sabihin nating nangyari kung only if the party requesting the evidence or documents ay nagbabakasakali lang, baka may makuha tayo dito.” Linawin ko po: Hindi tayo nagbabakasakali lang. May probable cause o sapat na dahilan na nakita sa mga record ng Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) tungkol sa bilyun-bilyong dumaan sa accounts ng VP at kanyang asawa. Hiningi natin ang bank records para makita kung tugma ito sa sinasabi ng AMLC reports. Tandaan: Ang bank records ay maaari lang mailabas kapag may utos o subpoena mula sa korte. Ibig sabihin, kung nabuksan ng Kamara ang mismong bank records bago ang trial, paglabag yan sa karapatan at due process ni VP Sara Duterte. Ngayong may subpoena na para sa bank records ng Bise Presidente, magagamit ito ng magkabilang panig para patunayan ang kanilang kaso. Sa ganitong paraan, makakapagpasya ang mga Senator-Judges batay sa kabuuan ng ebidensya.

The pattern of violence of VP Sara constitutes to betrayal of public trust and proves that she is unfit to be the second highest official of the land. Inaprubahan na rin ng impeachment court ang pagbubukas ng tax records ng bise presidente. Next week tutukan naman natin ang pagbubukas ng katotohanan sa likod ng confidential funds. A whole three days after the Chinese ambassador was called to Malacañang to speak with the President the Chinese Coast Guard harassed our PCG and BFAR personnel assisting Filipino fishers in Bajo de Masinloc. Either the ambassador is engaged in double-speak or he can't make guarantees on his government's behavior. Ano pa ang silbi ng pananatili niya dito? I-expel na kasi 'yan.

Hindi pwedeng palampasin at balewalain ng mga awtoridad ang mga ganitong uri ng banta. Violence, whether through words or actions, have no place in a democracy. Sen. Risa has been a constant target for harassment and intimidation due to her zealous work in fighting for truth and accountability. No amount of threats will deter her. #AkbayanPartylist

We call on the authorities to act immediately to identify, investigate, and prosecute those responsible. Death threats and intimidation have no place in a democratic society. Democracy depends on the free exchange of ideas, where political differences are expressed through peaceful dialogue, debate, and democratic processes, not through fear, violence, or threats to life. We cannot become a country where death threats are treated as normal, whether they come from public officials, or private individuals. A culture of threats is a threat to democracy itself. It creates fear, silences criticism, discourages people from speaking out, and undermines the peaceful and secure life that every Filipino deserves. No one should fear for their safety for expressing an opinion, demanding truth and accountability, or serving the public. Senator Risa has consistently stood for human rights, truth, and accountability, and has often been the target of harassment and disinformation. Akbayan stands firmly with Kasamang Risa. We will not be intimidated, and we will continue to defend our democratic space where dissent is protected and public servants can perform their duties without fear.
