On National Parents Day, let's give a big thanks to the parents of our community. From late nights working on homework with kids to being a private chauffer to just giving our kids a hug, our parents make it all possible. We couldn't be more grateful for their love and sacrifice!

Drowning is one of the top causes of accidental deaths, especially among children. On World Drowning Prevention Day, I want to acknowledge the devastating impacts of drowning incidents and raise awareness surrounding the importance of prevention and education.

On National Hire a Veteran Day, I urge employers to honor the unique attributes that service members have to offer in our workforce.

Yesterday I attended the ribbon cutting of the brand new Anchorpoint Counseling facility in the Town of McCandless. This facility will provide crucial counseling and support services to individuals and families in our community.

The @CDPsisters have dedicated their lives to their faith and advancing education and our community, including founding @larocheuniv in McCandless. I was honored to present a citation from the PA House to the sisters on the 150th anniversary of their order’s arrival in the US.

For every dollar earned by a white, non-Hispanic man, Black women are paid only 65 cents. Systemic barriers and discrimination have led to a persistent wage gap. Let us commit to enacting policies that address this inequity and ensure equal pay for equal work.

Honored to join fellow Asian-American and Pacific Islander elected officials at the AAPI Lead Summit in Los Angeles to share my experience as an AAPI-background elected official in PA and speak about how we can address affordability in healthcare, housing, energy, and food.

On National Pennsylvania Day, let's celebrate our Commonwealth’s rich history and significance. From our founding by William Penn to the Declaration of Independence to the Battle of Gettysburg to the Industrial Revolution, PA has played a pivotal role in our nation’s development.

With the signing of PA’s budget into law, I'd like to highlight a long over-due pension boost for PSERS and SERS employees. The last increase in Cost-of-Living Adjustments these retirees have seen was in 2001. They will no longer be expected to survive off an unlivable pension.

On the anniversary of the Seneca Falls Women’s Rights Convention, let us take a moment to recommit to prioritizing gender equality for all in our vision for a better future.

John Lewis is a hero of mine. It is always a privilege for me & Veena to participate in the John Lewis “Good Trouble Lives On” Weekend of Action with @RepAbney, County Council Member Jordan Botta & voting rights groups in our region. We need more ‘Good Trouble,’ especially now.

Great to join colleagues and staff from the @ACDelegation to tour The Education Partnership, a non-profit that provides free school supplies to teachers and classrooms in need that is supported by students, volunteers, and donors in our community.

Today, we commemorate the adoption of the Rome Statute and the establishment of the International Criminal Court (ICC). Let us recognize its importance, as well as the importance of achieving justice for victims of war crimes, genocide, and violations of international law.

Proud to announce the award of major grants for both the Allegheny County Police & Fire Academy, and @NA_Schools. Thanks to @GovernorShapiro for awarding these grants and my colleagues, @SenWilliamsPA, @SenRobinsonPA, and Rep Shaffer, for their aid in advocating for these funds.

The Indian-American community in Western PA, of which my family is a part, is a vibrant part of our region. As 1 of 2 Indian-American legislators in PA, I was proud to join fellow Indian-Americans in welcoming Binaya Srikanta Pradhan, Consul-General of @IndiainNewYork, to PGH.

The final place we wanted to bring attention to this week is Raccoon Creek State Park. This lovely state park, not far from Allegheny County, has many great trails, waterfalls, and fishing spots.
