I recently had the opportunity to meet with Schoolcraft Village Manager Cheri Lutz and discuss my efforts to offer vital economic relief to residents and secure funding for communities across the district. Thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts, this year was the largest tax refund season in American history, with Americans receiving $91 billion in additional tax refunds.

I recently had the opportunity to sit down with former Branch County prosecutor and current circuit judge Zach Stempien to talk about how we can protect our communities and hold bad actors accountable. Last month, the House voted unanimously to pass my bipartisan bill, the Enhancing Detection of Human Trafficking Act, to ensure that Department of Labor (DOL) employees receive the proper training to recognize instances of human trafficking and refer these cases to law enforcement agencies.

On this National Fentanyl Awareness Day, we remember all those who lost their lives and stand united in the effort to combat this deadly crisis. Last year, the President signed into law the HALT Fentanyl Act, a great step in providing law enforcement with the tools they need to keep Americans safe from these lethal substances, and we'll continue to work to protect Michigan families.

.@FLOTUS is exactly right about Jimmy Kimmel deepening the political sickness. Kimmel’s hateful rhetoric does nothing but normalize political violence and further divide our country. This type of language is despicable.

Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family isn’t comedy- his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America. People like Kimmel shouldn’t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate. A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him. Enough is enough.  It is time for ABC to take a stand.  How many times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community.
