I just voted to pass the Sunshine Protection Act, which makes daylight saving times permanent and ends the outdated practice of changing our clocks twice a year. By providing more daylight in the evening hours, this bill would give Americans more time to spend with their families and enjoy the outdoors.

This is a victory for common sense and for every woman and girl who has worked tirelessly to excel in their sport. Last year I joined an amicus brief for this case, as allowing biological males to participate in women’s sports safety and fairness in competition. The Supreme Court rightly recognized that biological different matter and that states have the authority to protect the integrity of women’s sports.

BREAKING: The Supreme Court just handed states a major victory in one of the country's most closely watched culture battles: protecting girls' and women's sports. In a 6-3 ruling along ideological lines, the court upheld laws in Idaho and West Virginia banning transgender students from competing in women's and girls' school sports. Justice Brett Kavanaugh writing in his opinion, "The term 'sex' in Title IX... cannot plausibly be interpreted to refer to anything other than biological sex... The Court concludes that separate sports teams for biological males and biological females are reasonable given the inherent physical differences between the sexes."

The right to life is our first God-given right and promised to us in the Declaration of Independence. On this anniversary of Dobbs, we reaffirm our commitment to defend the right to life.

82 years ago today, Operation Overlord commenced as thousands of American and Allied troops landed on the beaches of Normandy in the largest amphibious assault in history. Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to the cause of freedom helped liberate Europe and change the course of history.   As we prepare to celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary, D-Day reminds us that the blessings of liberty have been secured and preserved by generations of Americans who answered their nation’s call in its hours of need. Today, we honor those heroes. We owe them a debt we can never repay.
