We’re here in Roswell kicking off our Southern District tour! Today we visited the New Mexico Military Institute and Youth Challenge Academy and loved meeting with cadets, students, teachers and staff and hearing your hopes, dreams, and vision for the future! We’re so grateful for everything you’re doing to build our future!

We know there are difficult days ahead—but we must continue to keep showing up as generations have before. Especially, in the wake of this week’s Voting Rights decision.
Last year I had the opportunity to meet and hear the stories of those who marched in the Children’s Crusade in Birmingham in 1963– who had faced dogs, and fire hoses, and jail cells—but who helped changed the course of history and ultimately helped to pass that very same Voting Rights Act.
Their stories hold an important lesson for us on courage and continuing to show up even when the road ahead is hard. We will get through this and we will prevail.

60 days of this illegal and disastrous war:
-Thousands of civilians dead
-13 service members killed
-Hundreds injured
-Over $24 billion spent
-Munitions stockpiles depleted
-Straight of Hormuz closed
-Gas prices spiking
-Congress failing to act
-Trump still has no exit plan
It’s time to END THIS WAR NOW!

This is what happens under fair maps—and why they gutted the Voting Rights Act. Get it?
This is why generations marched, organized, and mobilized. And so must we. 📈@nytimes

Happy May Day! Today on International Workers’ Day, we are celebrating the organizers and workers who have fought for generations for workers’ rights.
As the daughter of an organizer, seamstress and Operating Engineer (Local 953 out of Farmington ✊) and one of the first women in NM (that’s my mom!)—we are #UnionStrong!
As your Congresswoman, I am fighting every day to ensure the hardworking people of NM have dignity, respect, and a fair wage at work—fighting for you! 💪❤️

The House GOP let thousands of federal workers at TSA, FEMA, and Coast Guard go without pay for months — just to squeeze more money out of Congress for ICE.
Today, they folded—along with the other soft-liners, flip-floppers, and fold-overs (as our colleague calls them) that have held this Congress and the American people hostage for months.
Time is up! We need leaders that stand with our people. Not against them.

And to think, they could’ve done this weeks ago.

THE HOUSE just funded DHS by voice vote. 76-day DHS shutdown is over. They didnt even take a recorded vote

Yesterday SCOTUS gutted enforcement of the 1965 Voting Rights Act. There’s a lot to unpack.
Here with @repscfigures of AL-02 to talk about what it means, especially in the South, and what comes next ⬇️
