I think lowering the price for Gamepass was a great move, but I don’t think it moves the needle enough to matter. Sales of Xbox One were abysmal compared to PS4 and this generation has been even worse. Microsoft themselves admitted they lost the console wars. It’s so bad they are moving away from platform exclusives, and Project Helix isn’t even a console, it’s a PC. I hope Asha does a great job. I want there to be legitimate competition for PlayStation. But Xbox is basically dead as a brand compared to the heyday of the 360. I’m not happy about that. I’ve owned an Xbox every generation since the OG and I want them to succeed. But realistically, PlayStation and Nintendo are operating at a completely different level at this point. I want to be wrong, though. I want them to return to the glory days. I love Halo, Gears and Forza and want to see them get back to where they used to be. I don’t see it happening though, to be honest.

Beat the fifth boss in Saros (spoiler warning). Housemarque absolutely cooked. Insane boss fight, the walk up to it reminded me of Hyperion.

no. they built a brand on premium single player and it sells. the issue isn’t “unsustainable”, it’s portfolio balance and margin. Astro Bot proves they can ship smaller hits and keep tentpoles. “cost doubles every gen” is a myth - costs rise, but tooling, engines, and reuse offset a lot of it. you don’t fix budgets by abandoning what sells.

Sony are in a tricky spot because they are essentially stuck between a rock and a hard place. They have conditioned their audience to expect highly graphical cinematic games yet that isn't really sustainable with the cost of development as it is (and only rising) Astro Bot is my favorite Sony game of all time and I personally would prefer they pulled back on the scale a bit on their games but sales show that isn't what the PS audience wants. The cost of game development essentially doubles every generation so I have no idea how Sony is going to manage these massive budgets in the PS6 generation. Given the size of Naughty Dog now, salaries in LA being so high, the amount of time it's been in development, plus overheads and marketing I could easily see Intergalactic costing over $400 million.

Crimson Desert just got another update, this time, they've managed to completely fulfill their roadmap that was meant to end in June, an entire month early. Main highlights: - Added an ability to rematch Boss Fights, and you can rematch them as any of the protagonists (Oonka/Damiane/Kliff) - You can now re-blockade the map, restoring all enemy camps - You can now pet ducks and geese - Added new legendary animals that can be kept as pets: Iron Eagle and Hyacinth Macaw - Added new creature: Mountain God Bear - You can now pick up gold bars that were previously not interactable, granting you crude gold bars which can be sold for 5 silver - Added the "Sharpness Enhancement" option to PS5 and Xbox - Improved the visibility of hints in certain puzzles, making them overall make more sense - Embed Abyss Gear and Create Socket functions can now support previously locked items - The graphical quality of some animals was improved - Harvesting crops in the camp's garden now grants a minimum of 2 crops Crimson Desert's rate of updates continues to be mindblowing. I really got no idea what they plan to do next, considering they've fulfilled almost every single piece of major feedback about the game. I do hope they find a way to adjust some of the writing in the story at some point, though I am not sure if that is really feasible to do in patches rather than just a whole new game. But who knows? They have been pretty crazy with updates so far!

I'm loving every single second of SAROS, but I think the one thing missing from Returnal is the difficulty In Returnal, you simply had to get better and know the game more. In SAROS, you keep getting stronger and each run is just easier 2 very different approaches
