Today is second reading of the Victims and Prisoners Bill. This Bill was meant to put the Victims’ Code rights in law to give it teeth but the Bill has failed to include enforceability, and funding for services. It will have no meaningful impact on victims’ lives. #victimslaw

I’ve written an open letter to the Lord Chancellor asking for commitment to the importance of specialist services to support victims. Specialist services are already over capacity. My letter is supported by Rape Crisis, Women’s Aid, Refuge, CALM, Galop #inkatiesname

Parker added: ‘Love Island is watched by many young people and we know what a huge influence it has. ‘Producers must make sure there is support for contestants throughout, and intervene if relationships become unhealthy or abusive.’

‘We hope that ITV recognise how serious this issue is and that it must be learned from, considering they have asked Adam to return to the show.’

‘In the 2018 series of Love Island, we saw Rosie rightly call out Adam for his unacceptable behaviour, which included gaslighting and emotional abuse.

Now the charity, which aims to end domestic abuse against women and children, has insisted producers must intervene if relationships in the villa become unhealthy or abusive. Here's what Teresa Parker, head of communications and media relations, told us👇
