@halbuildsgames haha yea, the Ik leg setup has been wild to get them walking and turning in a fluid way. anything at this size is magnified so much

@RestingRelic Im just imaging the edge case of a monster raising an arm you were climbing while it was dangling at the monster's side, and the quaternions/IK killed me on the spot

I accept the criticism, I lm not trying to hide the impact of the inspiration. You are however making some incorrect assumptions about the path that I took that lead me here. I didn’t start with a blank project and start building Sotc. Much of it came from a completely unrelated bit of concept art. Once I got to the “climbing monsters” things started to converge.

You chose to take not one, but thousands of creative design decisions Ueda & his team made. Don't pretend that swapping details make it acceptable.
You're making a game where we climb the fur of half organic ancient creatures, that's it, that's already enough inspiration, the rest of the design has to come from you.
Swapping the horse for a wolf, swapping details of a massive lost temple & its iconic bridge, it's simply not acceptable. It's too much, taken almost as is, all from a single source.
You have talent. You are human. For the sake & honor of those who inspired you so much: bring your inspirations to new horizons! It's your duty as an artist & creator.

These “spiritual successors” are often just necromancy. Please grab the spirit of an IP & deviate from it, don’t replicate an art direction + gameplay 1:1. I find this type of developers pretty shameless. The indie scene is full of leeches unfortunately.

@RestingRelic If your game is already based on Shadow of the Colossus, can you at least not copy its temple & exact bridge? Please find new architectural concepts, bring this gameplay to a new world of your own. This is pretty disrespectful of Ueda’s work imo.

@zakkmathiason I want to bring to consoles for sure. Would love to work with Xbox again and hope to expand to PS as well. Might even manage to get to Switch, nothing set in stone, but working with all of that in mind

Thoughts on a cave system/ravine setting for the fight? Could allow for some more variety with a falling rocks element to the whole encounter.

Had the Idea for this hammer faced Keeper for a while. An earthquake maker. Also want the first keeper you encounter to be impressive to give a good first impression.
