We applaud @NYCLU and their brave plaintiffs for this litigation to overturn an unfair practice that destabilizes people in reentry. Policies like SARA that prioritize perpetual punishment over prevention practices, rehabilitation & survivor services are counterproductive.

4/ Banishment is not how we should treat formerly incarcerated individuals. The Constitution requires that people convicted of sexual offenses are not subjected to unnecessary and vague restrictions that curb their ability to reintegrate into society. Our statement:
