A new “PVM” arrived today. The S702N was used in the back seat of the Jurassic Park Ford Explorer tour vehicle.

@crix0r I’m keeping my OG hardware around pretty much just out of nostalgia, I’m all mister these days I have not found something I couldn’t play yet or tell the difference Exception being Dreamcast/ps2/gamecube/Xbox as mister can’t do those of course

@RetroJeff83 Yup, same - I’ve got my mister going into the Tikk4k, too. Just trying to determine if I really need these analogue consoles or if k can offload’em without missing something.

Serious question, because I might need to liquidate some hardware soon: What am I missing if I use an SD2SNES and a modded SNES with @Voultar’s edge enhancer in conjunction with a Tink4k vs using an Analogue NT mini Noir or Super NT, or even a MiSTer?

@crix0r I have original hardware and OEM SNES and I do 99% of my playing on the Mister honestly. It can be hooked to a scaler, or CRT via analog out. Form factor is nice and small, plus can do way more than just SNES so if you are looking to downsize its pretty much the best option

@crix0r I would still keep the Tink as the Mister can only do 1440P, I still feed my mister into a 4K scaler. As far as games/ehancement chip support only a few dont work in mister and they are games no one really cares about, the big ones all work: mister-devel.github.io/MkDocs_MiSTer/…

@InsaneMegaCD Shame there hasnt been a translation yet, I would love to play that version on my SCD, I have a translated version for the super famicom

Shin Megami Tensei on Mega-CD is the best version of the game. Yes, I'm biased. Yes, it's not been translated. No, I don't care.

@hard4games Yeah I purely want it to have the full "tower" setup look. just like I want a Jaguar CD even though I have a flash cart that can technically play the CD games Im crazy like that. Luckily for me both are out of my budget

@RetroJeff83 TBH it's cool to have but 100% not worth the price. At least not modern prices. Maybe 15 years ago. Even then...it was expensive. Just get a SummerCart 64 and enjoy the games that way.

The N64 DD was WILD. And thanks to the SummerCart 64/Analogue 3D, my son is in love with Mario Talent Studio. 😅

@hitmanmcc my favorite SCD game as well! As someone who also has Duo, how does the PCECD version compare? Not quite as good I assume knowing system specs

@TedderDanny Any time! And yeah I’ve absolutely relied on other modders sharing 5v and gnd points for FRAM installs because there are so many revisions. Still do sometimes unless it’s a board I get a ton of!

@RetroJeff83 Awesome, that’s what I do as well. This time the pad pulled when I trimmed the leads. It did look like the cap might’ve been leaking though. You always do great work and I enjoy viewing the photos. The Saturn FRAM install photos have helped me several times! Thanks again sir

@TedderDanny Nope, I can take some next time but I know what you mean Haven’t done that in many years and I do a lot of them. I find trimming leads a bit so nozzle makes better contact, lowest heat and gently wiggle cap while leaving nozzle completely still works best

@RetroJeff83 Great job as always!! I was hoping to see the bottom of the cdrom board to see if you had any broken traces. I just recapped my entire model 1 and only pulled one pad on the Sony KSK pcb. They are super delicate on the Sony KSK pcb!!!

I’ve seen some people posting about how dirty their consoles are or whatever here’s my Nintendo on my super Nintendo. I’ve had these since I was a kid me and these little consoles have been through a lot together. I wouldn’t trade them for the world. i’m not really that obsessed with aesthetics
