I’m seeing a shocking amount of love on the timeline for David Copperfield, The Count of Monte Cristo & other classics. People are opening these books and discovering that they’re hypnotically readable. They’ve been beloved for generations because they’re terrific stories.

This is what I have been telling myself before matches since the summer.
My advice is to simplify the messages you tell yourself before matches. It’s okay if they don’t make sense to other people. Find words that resonate with you.
When you simplify the messaging related to mindset, you can focus on technique.
If your internal monologue is fear-driven you will compete scared.
I’m happy that I won last week, but I’m most proud of the fact that at no point during the competition weekend did I ever want it to end.

Petr Yan's coach Kairat Nurmagambetov showed the game plan he created for Yan's UFC 323 bout with Merab Dvalishvili on his iPad. It's a decision tree with every possible scenario. "If Merab goes single leg, we do A, if it doesn't work, we do B, if his response is C, we do D" etc.

It’s so infuriating to me that I actually cried watching this scene in theaters and when I showed it to my family they were extremely upset and put off by it and a few asked me to turn off the movie because it was getting “too weird.” My people, unfortunately cannot be saved.

Here’s an example of a positive externality of liquid prediction markets: Software engineers & truck drivers today are at meaningful risk of being automated into obsolescence, but they have no way to price that risk & hedge against it. Prediction markets fix this
