This past Saturday, voices from across the Middle East came together in a celebration of poetry, culture, and connection. Through each verse, stories were shared, identities honoured, and bridges built across communities. Poetry reminded us that even across borders, we are united.

Yesterday we held our first yarning session, a special and important step in listening, learning, and coming together. It was a true honour to witness such powerful Aboriginal traditional dancing, an experience that carries deep meaning, history, and connection to culture.

Right now, the world is under pressure. There’s a lot of uncertainty, and the cost of relying on resources that won’t last forever is only rising. The truth is, we don’t have to depend on them the way we always have. Cleaner, renewable energy isn’t just better for the planet, it’s smarter for our future.

Why do we have to make difference scary?

When you have a society where Jewish people are afraid to go out of their homes; Muslim people are afraid to sleep in their homes and aboriginal people can be pipe bombed wherever they are; we have a problem which has to be addressed.

I am really saddened to hear of the passing of Dame Marie Bashir. Over many decades she he was a great friend to me personally and to my Foundation. I will miss her greatly. God bless her and may she rest eternally in the sunshine of God’s smile.

In amongst all the Christmas celebrations in our church today we altogether stood for a minute silence for the victims of Bondi

This is not the time for violent words. They encourage and lead to violent actions. Hate can only begat more hate and violence. Hotheads will only make things worse. Then it’s always the innocents who suffer as the bullies can only pick on the week.

This is a really special time of year for me. It’s when I get to see the graduation ceremonies for the kids in our learn to read program, and it’s truly wonderful to see how far each of them has come. When a child learns to read, it can set them up for life

Yesterday, I held an Interfaith Church Service to honour World Human Rights Day this coming Wednesday. I was deeply moved to see such a broad community come together, all united in the belief that every person deserves hope, respect, and the freedom to live with their rights upheld.

Outside The United Nations building in New York mixing and speaking with thousands of Iranian people calling for freedom and democracy in Iran. This murderous regime has to go.

Hope is so powerful when it comes to recovery. Here at the Recovery Walk in Wolverhampton, the abundance of people walking together shows just how true that is.

I was blessed with a visit from Thubten Tashi recently. Moments like this remind me what true religious harmony looks like, the way the world should be.
