@DrDoyleSays I am going through this dynamic with an attorney who consistently berates me for my now extensive trauma symptoms. I have to stop myself from blaming myself, and his criticisms hurt deeply.

It takes more than "willpower" to undo the conditioning that trauma inflicts upon our nervous system. We're not gonna "gut" our way out of PTSD-- we gotta work a recovery plan that realistically gives us options for feeling safe & continuing to function. You can do this.

1 out of every 7 stalking victims is forced to relocate. The perception that moving increases safety is WRONG. Removing the victim from friends, their career, etc. increases vulnerability! Try forcing the perpetrator out of his nest. He’s not going, is he? #stalking

After I survived a heavily armed stranger #rape & went through a rape kit exam, still traumatized, just years later, the @CityofTampa emptied evidence lockers. Every rape kit/#DNA must be tested, & investigations completed for every victim. #EndtheBacklog #testallkits #Tampa

The reality of #victim services: NOT victim focused, NOT survivor focused. PERPETRATOR focused. Still. After 6+ yrs on panic-button system in our home city, I FLED MY OWN LIFE in payment for someone else's crimes. Years fleeing & 2 cross-country relocations. Unsafe. #stalking

There is a place and a time. A moment when, despite costly relocations, when I lost all I had, and essentially myself, that violent crimes have simply left too little in their wake . #PTSD is a beast. It won today. Peace out.
