I have to draft a skeleton argument on behalf of a respondent. I'm not told what my client's position is.

@4PBFamilyLaw @SolicitorsJrnl Is it me or has the approach to child's welfare has changed over the years? It definitely seems harder to succeed in relocation cases.

Jonathan Evans writes an insightful article for @SolicitorsJrnl, on the 'Judicial approach to international child relocation applications', reiterating that a child’s welfare, not parental preference, remains the only true test in relocation cases. @GMHSoton @GSVUCoE I always thought it was the financial stuff was what they were after. If they have your name and bank details and know it is a professional, you may be more at risk. I hope not.

@ReverendSalmon @GSVUCoE I assumed that it was everyone's data and not just those of clients (although I suppose client data might contain more personal stuff than just their financial information).

@GSVUCoE Apparently you have to be in receipt of legal aid before you can claim.

Defendants! The effect of wearing a suit to Court is somewhat undermined if you team it with sliders.

Professionally embarrassed with some style today. Relationship irredeemable following dispersal of water throughout courtroom, frank opinions vis a vis my advocacy, and a reference to Mary Queen of Scots execution made towards the social worker.

@GMHSoton So, the Bar Council have compromised their mathematical principles? 0 is not a number. You will note I, almost, missed the chance to comment on how close to PB work, Legal Aid is.

@MrSkinnerTweet The index doesn't name the people who have made the statements/written the reports. They're either descriptions ("assessment") or randomly generated names ("POS420").

On Tuesday, I'm starting a final hearing that's scheduled to last 2 days (so roughly 11 hours of court time). The President of the family division has previously said that bundles should not exceed 350 pages unless exceptional circumstances apply.

@JamesTurner37 @yuanyi_z Hi James. Sadly, I am reminded of the medical adage: the procedure was a complete success but, unfortunately, the patient died. Everyone should not lose sight of who actually killed this poor child.

@yuanyi_z Come off it. Your tweet contained a clear assumption. And unlike Williams J you haven’t read the case papers. I can see we are going to get lots of this now, which is the concern that Williams J has expressed.

Judges exercise enormous public power and rightly enjoy broad immunity for their official acts. Senior judges are essentially impossible to fire, and by design. But to make it illegal to name them when they screw up, as Williams J has done, is indefensible.
Sonia Sodha@soniasodha

I read these sections of the judgment open-mouthed. A high court judge implying family court judges have the same level of agency as a lookout on the Titanic or a foot solider on the Somme. And revealing a lack of understanding of domestic/child abuse and its risks for children.
