I get it, there’s an urge to read something like this and be like…aww, he hates Israel 🥹. Comrade 🫶🏼. But this is actually a very problematic and harmful classic liberal Zionist position - where one cannot possibly criticize Israel without condemning Hamas. And in doing so, forever perpetuating the condition of the oppressed. This is equivalent to saying “slavery was more evil than the slave rebellions” or “Nazis were more evil than the Jewish uprisings”. No, enslaved people or those placed in concentration camps or those being subjugated by a violent powerful entity are not evil when they use violence to break free. They are, in fact, exercising their human and legal right to armed resistance.

Many of the people I’ve seen saying “I can see why this was shelved” is not because of anything regarding how the quality of the movie looks but rather they see how it is absolutely not subtle with it’s anti-corporate stance and realize WB definitely took offense to that message.

@belladonnafeli I think the problem is the fact that in these settings racism is literally a matter of different species and not a social construct created within a species. Eg: elves versus orcs. Thus I think it ends up excusing it or even justifying racism
