Yesterday's Hero of the Match was Mohamed Sanusie Traore. In 2022, Mohamed was working as an Uber driver when he watched a car flip onto its side. He stopped at the accident and rushed into action to help the driver and her young daughter escape. Moments later, the car burst into flames. Thanks to his bravery and quick actions, everyone was able to walk away from the accident without any major injuries. Following this experience, Mohamed has become determined to help people understand the impact of the Bystander Effect, and convince others the importance of stepping in when necessary. Thank you, Mohamed, for your bravery and your dedication to teaching others about stepping in when necessary! #NERevs

Tonight’s @NERevolution Hero of the Match is Jennifer Vertentes. In 2018, Officer Jennifer Vertentes met three-year-old Emerson Lucier, who was courageously battling leukemia for the third time. Their bond grew quickly, with Jen often visiting Emerson at Hasbro Children’s Hospital. Today, Emerson is nine and five years cancer-free. Inspired by Emerson, Jen launched the Art for Emerson drive, which evolved into a nonprofit in 2021: The Hero Package Foundation. Since then, Jen has built and delivered over 226 personalized care packages to children fighting cancer worldwide. The foundation also offers financial aid, bereavement support, holiday help, and ongoing care for families. In 2023, Jen was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Despite her own battle, Jen continues her mission, standing by her promise that “no one fights alone.” Thank you, Jennifer, for your unwavering dedication to children and families facing cancer! #NERevs

Tonight’s @NERevolution Hero of the Match is Ricardo Rodriguez. Ricardo is a proud member of the New England Association for Colombian Children - NEACOL, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of Colombian children through education, health, and nutrition initiatives. For many years, the New England Revolution has proudly partnered with NEACOL, hosting the annual Celebrity Rolling event to raise funds that directly support these impactful initiatives. Thank you, Ricardo, for your dedication to the Latino community and for helping make a difference in the lives of children across Colombia!   #NERevs

Tonight’s @NERevolution Hero of the Match is Brianna LeConti.   Brianna is an active supporter of Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Brianna's brother Bryce, who has cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and hemiplegia, had his wish to go on a Disney cruise granted in 2010. Brianna has spent much of her life in hospitals with Bryce and she shares that the wish experience gave them a bit of their childhood back.   The wish experience inspired Brianna to get involved with Make-A-Wish, and as a volunteer she has helped grant over 200 wishes locally. Brianna is a founding member of our Wish Community Council, a group whose goal is to engage with and create a strong alumni network of wish recipients and families. Her work on the Council helps guide alumni through events and opportunities throughout the year, with the purpose of connecting wish families with one another and keeping them involved with Make-A-Wish.   Thank you, Brianna, for your commitment to helping others’ wishes come true! #NERevs
