#USIranWar #Hormuz Although I'm strongly anti-Trump, I'm not at all gleeful that, to date, no allies have publicly committed warships to help secure the #StraitOfHormuz. As an American, I want our interests and global stability protected, not embarrassment or failure on the world stage. That said, I'm not surprised by our allies' reluctance. Trump's years of antagonism, such as insulting NATO leaders, threatening to abandon allies, demanding protection money, withdrawing from shared agreements, tariff wars, and treating partners like rivals, have steadily eroded trust and goodwill. His behavior isn't the sole or even primary reason they're holding back right now (escalation risks with Iran, preference for diplomacy), but it undeniably plays a role and has not helped. You reap what you sow. One hand washes the other. We all need help at some point. That's precisely why we build alliances and coalitions. We're far stronger together. Trump has shown almost no skill at forging or maintaining them; instead, he tears down relationships and strains them. The current lack of response from allies is, at least in part, the long-foreseen and predictable consequence.
