Summary: Yang Yang was approached with a normal script & tricked into signing the contract, but after he joined the crew they used a different version of the script for filming. The new script drastically changes from the original novel, very outdated with logic loopholes. The male lead’s character development, storyline, his friends, teacher and even wife are all given to 2ML. The 2ML & 3ML’s storyline is changed to BL and the main plot is driven by their roles. The FL had a independent career line in original which is changed to revolving around 2ML and was given 4th billing in the casts. In the original novel, ML is portrayed as an intelligent, calm & had well rounded leader skill in both wit and combat. In the new script, he is reduced to a crude and impulsive bandit who chases fame and fortune on his journey, now merely serving as a foil to other roles. The crew also held script readings without informing the male lead and revised it.
