Out and about in the sunshine on my patch at BRIANTSPUDDLE today meadows still flooded just CETTIS W. singing. But caught up with a few others DARTFORD, YELLOWHAMMER, KESTREL ,GREEN WOODPECKER,AND FINALLY LESSER REDPOLL.
Nice morning for a walk around BRIANTSPUDDLE MEADOWS still no sign of Bean Goose but 3Cattle Egrets pair of Red Kites nice flock of Lapwings good number of Little Egrets and too many Canada Geese.
Bit better photo of todays TUNDRA BEAN GOOSE at TROOP1 mile west of BRIANTSPUDDLE. Also my first flock of Lapwings for a while, and 4 SHOVELERS was nice, easterly wind is moving a few birds around.
Walked BRIANTSPUDDLE MEADOWS this morning and spotted a TUNDRA BEAN GOOSE with 4 Grey Lags and 2Egyptian Geese at the THROOP end very hard to photograph will try again tomorrow if still around.
Another walk around BRIANTSPUDDLE MEADOWS much the same except in nice sunshine today. Best was a nice male GOOSANDER on the flooded meadows, shame it was very distant, so a big crop on the photo.
Nice sunny morning so walked my patch at BRIANTSPUDDLE 3 CATTLE EGRETS still with the LITTLE EGRETS but mobile. Then saw 2 RED KITES hunting near the fishing lake, i do like kites; One landed in a tree with what looked like a snake and ate it.
Water levels up in BRIANTSPUDDLE water meadows a few birds showing 3 CATTLE EGRETS with 10 LITTLE EGRETS more GEESE and GULLS just hope for something better now.
Big mistake this morning caught A ROSY UNDERWING last night tried to pot it and it got away did not get a photo might still be in the garden have to try again tonight.
Nice to find 30+Yellow Wags today at Briantspuddle with good numbers of juvs also Redstart and 4 family's of Spot flys along the river lots of Swallows and Martins moving through after a bleak spring.
Keeping an eye on our SWIFTS 4 boxes with young all looking out like this one guess they will fledge in 2 weeks time normally 2young to each box but not sure yet.
