@Pitosh310 I think most people have atleast something they weirdly care about, just look at some sport fans or people who watch reality tv. And I'm sure most stories are created with the hope of someone looking at it beyond surface level. How important is "normal" anyway.

I feel like a loser for actually caring about fictional characters or thinking "what the story is trying to tell" sometimes, it feels like every "normal" person just watches stuff to pass the time without thinking about it

9 times out of 10 slander from diehard fans of a character is way funnier than from actual haters cause they really know where to cut deep

@newworldartur If we follow Oda's statements about distances, we arrive at conlusions like saying dress Rosa might be bigger than Africa, which doesn't really make sense. Oda is just not that good at scaling and that's fine

While we're at it, let's disprove another myth. How big is the One Piece world, really? Is it way bigger than Earth? The boring answer: we don't know, but probably not much bigger than Earth Most of the claims that the world is bigger than Earth are based on specific distances Oda has given in the series. One such example is Vivi citing the banks of the Sandora River being 50km from shore to shore. Considering how big Sandy Island is relative to the Sandora River, this would give the idea that Alabasta is massive, comparable to the size of something like Australia. The truth however is that these measurements feel quite absurd, because the Straw Hats can literally easily see the other shore from where they're standing, which would be hard to see if it truly were 50km away. The reality is that this is most likely a mistake by Oda because he really struggles with large sizes. There's a couple other similar examples at a couple other points, but they mostly come off as exaggerations by Oda rather than reliable sizes. A good example is the height of Zunesha, which has been officially retconned a total of five times. Yes, five times over. So while some people try to use claims like that of Alabasta's river as a measurement for how big the world should be given the relatively small size of Alabasta in the grand scheme of things, it should be noted that Oda has been pretty inconsistent with large sizes to begin with, and as such, it's hard to take those as anything concrete. The reality is, we have no real idea of how big the One Piece world is or any official sizes to realistically back that up. Marco spoke of there potentially being 10 or 20 million plus islands out there in the world, but that claim is both purely speculative on his end, and it's worth noting Earth has arguably close to a million islands despite its large landmasses, so a submerged world augmenting that number tenfold isn't even that absurd, considering even just one rock jutting out of the ocean can be qualified as an "island". The most boring answer to everything is that the One Piece world's size may likely be a lot more closely similar to that of ours. Oda has made extensive note of how identical both of our planets are, having the same axis tilt as Earth, both having a Moon with exact same calendar phases, etc. Some people even speculate if the two could be one and the same but even if they aren't, Oda definitely heavily relies on Earth as a model. But more than anything, while we cannot get a hard size from this, it's worth noting that it doesn't take the Straw Hats that long to cross half of the world. If you remove the time they actually spent waiting out on islands, the Straw Hats have barely like two to three weeks of sail time to cross from Reverse Mountain to Sabaody. So it's hard to imagine a Jupiter-sized planet in that case. So the real answer? We don't know. But if we're to take a guess, it's likely going to be a lot closer to the size of Earth.

Gotta love that it's always "let me hate this" but it can almost never be "let me enjoy this" without people acting like you're too sensitive or whatever The way people want their ability to hate be protected, but not anyone else's ability to love is so weird to me.
