I sold my house last week. I’m putting every penny into Pokemon cards. Yes, you read that correctly. I’m moving into my Grandma’s basement to cut expenses and buy as many cards as possible. She thinks I’ve lost my mind, but I can’t sit here and watch this market pump every single day and not be in it. Pokemon cards returned 1,900% in 5 years. My house returned 14%. One day I’ll sell the cards and buy a house 10x bigger. People can laugh now, but they won’t be laughing for long.

You have not seen how these people move in the crypto space. You do not know the lengths these people go to to scam and rob people. The manipulation is hard to comprehend. This man couldn’t care less about any of the cards and likely has paid somebody to buy them and is also paying people to run up auctions with fake bids to then pay people to sell the cards he paid somebody to buy. This is beyond making it a career, this is somebody that is looking to scam his way into millions.

This never happened with modern magic cards. Never in my life has there been an opportunity to go and rip a $1400 chase card out of a new set of magic cards. Never were the scalpers like they are for Pokemon 2026 and trying to claim that is disingenuous. I have been around this space for 2 full decades and know the truth. Furthermore, Bitcoin was never something somebody cherished in their formative years, it is nothing like pokemon cards.

You’re viewing this from the wrong angle. Sure I love that my cards are worth more, and I do have some cards worth potentially thousands after grading…but not with the sacrifice that was required. Card shows are now riddled with tables full of scaled goods marked up 2x from retail, impossible to stop by and grab a pack after work Friday, and a bunch of people that are here talking about market trends and liquidity instead of who they liked when they were 10…

You can now sell some cards to rip more. You probably have some valuable cards that were worth nothing before.
