Friartown, as many of you know Corey Floyd Jr’s uncle Eric (Unc) has been a staple of this crazy online community of PC fans. He took a sabbatical this past season and now Twitter won’t let him back into his account (free unc). Anyways it’s fitting he entrusted the Crier to relay a message to all of you. Enjoy!

There’s sports brutal, and there’s seeing your team get knocked out of the NCAA Tournament early Thursday to a school that sounds like a dispensary next to the Applebees

Whitlock doesn’t have it. He’s pitched a billion innings in the WBC. Red Sox letting him just go unlimited innings this tourney. Probably be dead by the time we get him back. Meanwhile Skubal wears the hockey jersey to the game while opting out. Make it make sense

I feel like you can physically see Aaron Judge’s body freeze up in big moments. I wouldn’t wish being a Yankee fan on my worst enemy. Must be infuriating

Years later J-Mac continued to serve Greece Athena and the athletes who passed on through. Everyone knows J. I personally owe him a debt I can never repay. He rebounded tens if not hundreds of thousands of shot for me as I tried my hand at the sport. Still get his daily texts too😂😂

Been at ESPN a long time - this one was an all timer. Before social media, it was as viral as a story can be. I watched it on a tape in the news room. I couldn’t stop watching his teammates.

19 years ago, a high school basketball coach put his team manager into a game for the final four minutes. The kid had never played a single minute of competitive basketball in his life. He scored 20 points. Jason McElwain was diagnosed with severe autism at age two. He didn’t speak until he was five. He couldn’t chew solid food until he was six. He wore a nappy for most of his early childhood. As a baby, he was rigid, wouldn’t make eye contact, and hid in corners away from other children. He tried out for his school basketball team every year and got cut every time. Too small. Too slight. Barely 5’6 and about 54 kilograms. But he loved the game so much that his mum called the school and asked if there was any way he could be involved. The coach created a team manager role for him. For three years, McElwain showed up to every practice and every game. He wore a shirt and tie on match days. He ran drills, handed out water, kept stats, and cheered every basket like he’d scored it himself. On 15 February 2006, the last home game of his final school year, the coach let him suit up in a proper jersey and sit on the bench. With four minutes left and a comfortable lead, the coach sent him in. His first shot missed. His second missed. Then something shifted. He hit a three-pointer. Then another. Then another. His teammates stopped shooting entirely and just kept passing him the ball. He hit six three-pointers and a two-pointer. 20 points in four minutes. The highest scorer in the game. When the final buzzer went, the entire crowd rushed the court and lifted him onto their shoulders. His mum tapped the coach on the shoulder, in tears. “This is the nicest gift you could have ever given my son.” McElwain won the ESPY Award for Best Moment in Sports that year, beating out some of the biggest names in professional sport. He’s 36 now. He works at a local supermarket, coaches basketball, has run 17 marathons including five Boston Marathons, and travels the country speaking about never giving up. When asked about that night, his coach still gets emotional. “For him to come in and seize the moment like he did was certainly more than I ever expected. I was an emotional wreck.”

Just an absolutely brutal loss by the #NHLBruins. You lead 2-0, blow said lead with two awful blueline turnovers, can't covert on multiple powerplays, hit a post in OT, and miss out on a crucial 2nd point. Props to Pastrnal to keeping the team afloat in that game but other than him just a poor showing.

Bruins lose 4-3 in OT to the Devils. -1st period was good, average play at best after that -PP is back to being a joke, PK is elite as of right now -Pasta brings the best out of Minten and Khuzy -Kopri is back to his up and down play, one bad goal for every big save #NHLBruins

If I’m the #NHLBruins I’m shaking the lines up even further. Put Zacha with Pastrnak and Geekie then slide Minten between Mittelstadt and Arvidsson. That first line has NOTHING and they need a boost

@PeteThamel @jeffborzello Good luck where you end up Wes- very likable guy- coaches with passion and has a great heart. I wish things would’ve wound up differently and I will absolutely root for him wherever he ends up. He recruits well and he truly cares about his players.

Sources: Cincinnati is firing coach Wes Miller, who did not reach the NCAA Tournament in five season there, per me and @jeffborzello. Miller went 100-74 over five years, two in the AAC and three in the Big 12.

What a moment. Colin Dorgan, wearing a patch on his chest with the initials of his mom, brother and grandfather, scores the game-winning goal in double overtime, sending his team to the championship. @KaylaFishTV @coreywelch Don't miss it tonight on 12 News.

I blame this all on the USA/Mexico broadcast cause I’m pretty sure said the winner of that game advanced during the game so maybe Mark Derosa heard the the same thing. Also the WBC is losing me with these tie breaking rules. Has to be easier way to do it
