I've finally codified Rhubba's Three Laws of Twitter: 1. If someone's protected their tweet they know they're in the wrong. 2. If I'm getting loads of likes & retweets for a response I've made then the OP is bad. 3. The more virtuous the Twitter bio reads, the worse the person is

@_HelenDale I remember when I lived on the Gold Coast you could get to see an episode of a new TV series on the local NSW affiliate an hour ahead of Queensland TV.

There are days when I wish I didn’t get really epic jet lag. Today is one of those days. I even get jet lag from daylight savings (clocks forward especially). So irritating.

A Muslim woman in a French supermarket is very angry and complains that they sell liquor-filled chocolates with alcohol, which is haram in Islam, and demands that they be banned. What is the solution to her problem?

@crankynotions Farage is stealing other people's points once he knows it's safe to say them. The man has little courage or conviction.

Farage is playing to WIN POWER, I get that some prefer to talk shit about Boomercons (the demographic standing between you and the Gulag) on livestreams. To each his own.

@englandislost @JAHeale Prove that statement. Which left leaning liberal is she siding with? And what makes you think Jenrick is a right winger when he personally campaigned for a flood of Afghans to live in the UK?

@JAHeale That’s how she refers to the formal right-wingers in the party, yet she seems far more comfortable siding with the left-leaning liberals.

@Alarsenalnews_ Fantastic defensive unit...and later on Keown stepped into Bould's role effortlessly. I thought Dixon deserved an England call up but I don't think he was international quality.

George Graham didn’t hesitate for a single second when he delivered this absolutely stone-cold truth bomb about his incredibly reliable right-sided machine: “He wasn't the most naturally gifted player when he arrived, but his attitude was absolutely first-class. He learned, he adapted, and he became an absolute pillar of the best defence in the country.” Wind the clock back to the late 1980s and 90s. If you ask any football fan about the absolute, undisputed foundation of Arsenal Football Club, they won't talk about silky playmakers or rapid strikers. They’ll chant the names like a legendary mantra: Dixon, Adams, Bould, Winterburn. The Famous Back Four. There is being a solid right-back, and then there is being an absolute, immovable brick wall who played for the same club across three different decades. Cast your mind back to the most dramatic, nerve-shredding night in the history of English football. May 26, 1989. Anfield. Liverpool vs Arsenal. The final day of the season. Arsenal needed to win by exactly two goals to snatch the league title from Liverpool in their own backyard. The clock had ticked past the 90th minute. Arsenal were leading 1-0. The title was slipping away. It was an impossible ask. Then came the moment. From the right-hand side, Lee Dixon steps in and plays the ball forward into midfield. The move develops quickly — Alan Smith wins it, flicks it on, and Michael Thomas bursts through. "It's up for grabs now!" Thomas slips it past Bruce Grobbelaar. 2-0. Pure, unfiltered pandemonium in the away end. Arsenal pull off the greatest title heist in English football history. And while Thomas gets the glory — rightly so — Dixon was part of the build-up that kept the move alive from deep on that right flank. Now, we have to address the absolute, monumental elephant in the room: the infamous own goal. September 1991. Highbury. Aston Villa are the visitors. Lee Dixon attempts a routine pass back towards David Seaman… and completely miscues it. Instead, the ball flies over Seaman and into the net from long range. One of the most bizarre own goals ever seen at Highbury — not a “worldie” by design, but a shocking mis-hit that had everyone stunned. But strip away the comedy, and what you’re left with is one of the most consistent defenders English football has ever seen. When Arsène Wenger arrived and revolutionised everything — diet, training, tempo — many from the old guard faded away. Dixon didn’t. He adapted. He evolved. He remained first-choice. And he was part of the side that won the historic Double in 1997–98. A true, undisputed immortal of the Highbury era: 🔴 619 appearances for the Gunners 🏆 4x League Titles (1989, 1991, 1998, 2002) 🧱 Integral part of The Famous Back Four 🎯 Scorer of one of the most infamous own goals in club history He eventually stepped away from the pitch and became one of the most respected, sharp-tongued pundits in the game. But those 14 years of locking down the right flank, winning everything there was to win, and surviving the biggest tactical revolution in Arsenal history were more than enough to cement his place as a Highbury legend. Proper grafter. Absolute machine. Dicko.

@RodneyMarshall1 @SandbaggerDC Losing the hybrid mid-Atlantic accent and making him an out and out Englishman, getting rid of "comedy" sidekicks and letting the guest cast shine (because like all good leading men, Roger knew when to step back and let co-stars take centre stage) were all positive changes.

@simongerman600 Pounds, stones, inches, feet, miles, acres. Fahrenheit. It doesn’t make sense at all. Interesting that the USA uses the metric system in science. Hopefully the poor Americans will fully switch to the metric system one day.

Not coming from an agricultural background, some measurements don’t make intuitive sense to me. A Hectares are easy enough to come to terms with: 10,000 square meters. Easy. An acre?! I still can’t wrap my head around this…
