The Scottish Government will introduce Air Departure Tax from 1 April 2027, with a Private Jet Supplement.
We will soon launch a consultation and undertake engagement to gather views from all interested parties.

As part of the 2026-27 Scottish Budget, the date for the implementation of Air Departure Tax has been announced as 1 April 2027. Air Departure Tax (ADT) is a wholly devolved tax that replaces the Air Passenger Duty (APD) in Scotland.

These two views at Anniesland station were taken a year apart. The first shows the dismantling of the old bridge in 1936, while the second shows the new bow string bridge by Sir William Arrol & Co nearing completion in 1937. #glasgow
