💡💡💡💡💡 #SAthleteSpotlight 🛫Decatur, TX🛬 ‼️‼️2028 STAR QB/ATH‼️‼️ Rhys Ragan🔥 @RhysRagan 👀 Decatur High school🏫 @DecaturEaglesFB 🏈 💡Rhys Ragan is a quarterback prospect from the class of 2028 out of the Decatur football program, the second standout I’ve covered from this school—joining WR star athlete Chase Berg (@ChaseBerg2026), a star in his own right. Decatur’s clearly doing something right, producing young talent that plays beyond their years. From the first snap, you can tell Rhys is different — calm, confident, and in full control of his offense. He plays the game with a natural rhythm, never rushed, never panicked, and always seems one step ahead of the defense. Everything about his presence screams “leader,” and it’s clear he already carries himself like a young field general. When breaking down what to look for, the focus will be on his physical traits—arm strength, accuracy, mobility, and overall size—as well as the finer details: footwork, decision-making, and how he handles pressure. Those first two plays on his half-season highlight reel? Kind of silly—in the best way. You can see right away this kid plays with confidence and a little flash, making off-script throws and creating out of chaos like it’s nothing. It all looks effortless, like the game just slows down for him. Then at :38, he shows his pure talent—takes it in the zone read, keeps his eyes up, and delivers a perfect strike down the seam. Almost like a pro. Fast forward to 1:28, and you get a straight pop-off-the-tape pump fake that freezes the DB completely, then he fires a laser right on the numbers. That’s next-level command for his age. And at 1:55, one of my favorite plays on the tape, he spots the soft zone coverage, freezes the safety just long enough, and hits his open receiver perfectly in stride. The anticipation and ball placement stand out—he throws it before the break, allowing his WR to catch it in rhythm and make a play after the grab. That’s advanced stuff for a kid his age. Jumping over to his full-season highlight reel, around 1:30, he flashes that same athleticism but adds a new layer—accuracy on the move. Rolling out of the pocket, he keeps his base strong and eyes downfield, then delivers a dart on the run without breaking stride. Fast forward to 2:25, and you see another eye-opener—he’s got enough arm strength at his age to zip it all the way to the far side of the field with accuracy and confidence. Then at 3:22, he shows a bit of veteran savvy—sells the fake beautifully to get the defense to bite, then sucks the defenders in and drops a soft, perfectly timed screen to his wide receiver. Love that touch on the football, knowing exactly when to take a little off it to let his guy make a play. And shoutout to the coaching staff on that one—great play design and execution all around. The final play of the reel ties it all together, showing his escapability and poise under pressure—he feels the rush, gets out of trouble, and wisely gets down before taking unnecessary contact. That’s awareness you usually see in a much older quarterback. This kid’s got a football IQ way beyond his years. You can tell he understands the game on a different level—reading defenses, changing reads on the fly, and moving safeties with his eyes like he’s been doing it for years. That’s not normal for an underclassman. He’s already got the command you want in a leader, and once he fills out that frame he lists, it’s over. There’s plenty of room for him to grow physically, and when that added strength hits, it’s only going to make his arm even more dangerous. The instincts are there, the poise is there, and the confidence jumps off the screen. He’s got the tools to be something special—a young QB who’s already thinking like a veteran. Projection: I don’t see any reason this kid can’t play Division 1 football. The tools are there—arm strength, athleticism, confidence, and that rare understanding of the game before the snap even happens. Rhys already shows flashes of college-level command, and once his body catches up to his football IQ, he’s going to be a problem for defenses. He’s also technically advanced for his age, something I’ve pointed out multiple times because it stands out in every phase of his game—footwork, timing, mechanics, and awareness. Hate watching some of this kid’s film because I get too excited—he’s another one. Reminds me a little of a young Caleb Williams, in my opinion. One I’m going to follow closely over the next couple of years as he develops and grows into that frame. Love watching this kid play.💡 📼Check the Tape!📼 @247recruiting @On3rivals @On3NIL @On3recruit @On3recruiting @Rivals @MaxPreps @ChadSimmons @AdamGorney @brandonHuffman @CoachBox6 @CUBuffsFootball @unc_bearsfb @theyoungcoach @coachpazak @recruit_x hudl.com/profile/198801… hudl.com/video/3/198801…

💡💡💡💡💡 #SAthleteSpotlight 🛫Decatur, TX🛬 ‼️‼️STAR 2026 WR/ATH‼️‼️ Chase Berg🔥 @ChaseBerg2026 👀 Decatur High School🏫 @DecaturEaglesFB🏈 📽️Review📽️ 💡A minute into the film and it’s obvious — Chase Berg is a weapon. The Decatur Eagles, led by Head Coach Steve Huff (@CoachHuff3), have a reputation for developing fast, physical playmakers, and Berg fits that identity to a tee. You can line him up outside, in the slot, or motion him across the formation — it doesn’t matter, he’s going to find a way to impact the game. The burst, the body control, the toughness after the catch — it all jumps off the screen. He plays with that confident edge you can’t coach, the kind of swagger that tells you he knows he’s a problem before the ball is even snapped. At 1:04, he shows exactly why this kid is different. Takes what should’ve been a simple play and, with a little lateral wiggle, turns it into a highlight. That blend of short-area quickness and play strength pops — the kind of “I’m bigger, stronger, faster… I’m better than you” play that makes you double-take. One of those “wait, let me check this kid’s size again” moments, because what you’re watching doesn’t match the measurables. The balance through contact, the burst out of the cut, the way he accelerates once he hits daylight — it’s just impressive. At 1:32, you really start to see how advanced this kid is as a route runner. The way he sets the DB up — smooth, patient, calculated — before snapping off a beautiful route and creating instant separation shows next-level polish. Then at 1:44, he turns a simple screen into a statement — showing a burst that absolutely POPs off the tape. Could be a long day if I highlight every single play. Jump ahead to 3:42, and it’s one of those plays that says everything about who he is — a quick in-cut, fearless through traffic, and unafraid of contact. And at 4:43, he shows the other side of his game — blocking with power and attitude, honestly embarrassing the DB and showing just how strong he is at the point of attack. In my projection, Chase Berg is a Division I product — no question about it. I don’t know what offers he has, but I do know this: this kid is a stud. He gives off young Michael Crabtree vibes — smooth, fearless, and competitive, with that mix of route precision and physicality that makes him hard to defend. He’s a matchup problem who can win inside or outside, and as he continues to add muscle and refine his release package, he’s going to be a nightmare to cover. Coaches and scouts — keep your eyes on Decatur, TX. This kid has that Texas swagger and the game to back it up.💡 📼Check the Tape!📼 @247recruiting @On3rivals @On3NIL @On3recruit @On3recruiting @Rivals @MaxPreps @ChadSimmons @AdamGorney @brandonHuffman @CoachBox6 @CUBuffsFootball @unc_bearsfb @theyoungcoach @coachpazak @RECRUIT_X hudl.com/video/3/151035…
