How long until you silly buggers will get it? There are 700k vacancies in the WHOLE UK, with 8 million people on benefits. You could fill every job space, and if you cut benefits MILLIONS will starve, go homeless or turn to crime. The problem isn’t the attitude, it’s availability

Every 18 year old should be given a job. No choice, just something that suits. If they don't want to work (many don't) then give them back to their parents and leave them. No benefits to non disabled under 25. Let parents deal with idle hands

A key but often overlooked factor in rising youth NEET rates I think is the increase in young people staying at home with their parents for longer. It provides a comfortable safety net incl perhaps no or little rent, lower living costs, family support etc, which will inevitably reduce the urgency to find work or training compared to previous generations who had to become independent much earlier and/ or found it easier to get a council house. In general I don’t think we encourage young people to be independent anymore and they’re kept immature for longer than in previous generations.

@PolitlcsUK And who is do you think these people will start voting for, Those who promise them more or those that tell them, rightly, that a level of accountability is needed and that they should be doing more, the answers obvious, there’s a real risk they’ll lean in to socialism

🚨 NEW: Statistics from the Government's youth unemployment report: - Mid- and lower-skilled jobs have fallen by around 1.6 million over the past 20 years - Hospitality vacancies have nearly halved in the last 4 years - Apprenticeships for 16-24-year-olds have fallen by 35% since the Apprenticeship Levy was introduced in 2017 - The proportion of 16-17-year-olds in paid work has nearly halved from 35% in 2006 to 19% today - If every current inactive 18-24-year-old was in full-time work, this would contribute an additional £38 billion to UK GDP - 58% of inactive young people (6 in 10) have never had a job - Nearly half of all PIP claims among young people are now for autism and ADHD, compared to less than 1 in 10 among all PIP claimants - 7 in 10 young people claiming a health and disability benefit are still claiming 10 years later - Of those who first claim aged 16-24, 53% are still not in work after 5 years - dropping to just 48% after 15 years - The number of 16-24-year-olds receiving DLA or PIP has risen from around 200,000 in 2012 to over 400,000 today, and is projected to reach 700,000 by 2031/32

@citizenjournos_ No actually it wasn’t warmer than it is now, we just broke the record. For some reason you guys don’t understand the word “trend” and “statistics” but you LOVE the phrase “cherry picking”

I wish we could separate the country into a billionaire side vs a non billionaire side to show people what really happens with this socialist thinking. The side with billionaires will have same day delivery, spaceships, satellite internet, self driving cars, AI. The other side will have… people begging the billionaire side to come help them.
Bernie Sanders@BernieSanders

Mr. Bezos: Let's have that debate. Under my 5% billionaires wealth tax, we'd: -Give $12K to a working family of 4 -Expand Medicare for dental, vision, hearing -Guarantee universal childcare -Raise starting teacher pay to $60K And you'd still be worth $269 billion after taxes.

@Demo4fhs The way you all are killing one another and yourselves because you are a bunch of wimps, let’s not talk about waiting on the older people to die. You all will likely die before them.
