Oh @GarethRubin why on earth would you attack @SalmanRushdie? Works on a shelf shouldn’t be on show, but can act as an extension of the consciousness, bringing us back to when we read them. And if Dan Brown’s your thing, best wishes, but you needn’t denigrate meaningful reads.
