My last album was the start of a whole new creative life for me. A lot of people ask if my next one will be similar, the short answer is yes. lnk.to/fireside
There's a lot of different things that have happened to lead to this album, the album cover and this music. My next record will be called "Go Down Singin'". It's my first release in over 10 years as a fully independent artist. All we thought about when making this music was how do we put the very best songs that I've got on one album. No thoughts of what's popular right now, or what will work blow up or go viral, simply who am I and what am I best at. It's got songs about the music industry and what it can do to your soul, it's got love lost songs, it's got a song about my dad once again, it's even got a murder song that might be my favorite song on the album. I hope you guys love this as much as I loved making it. Comes out September 20🤘🏼
What happens in Haw River is pretty dark but real. Shit like that happened and unfortunately still happens all the time in this country and around the world. The story is about fighting back, a girl standing up for her family, her sister and what is right. I absolutely love this song. Wrote it in Wilmington North Carolina with Blake Pendergrass. I hope yall enjoy this one as much as me🤘🏼
Just listened to the new @PostMalone album. I hear a decent amount of hate for him doin this, but isn't any form of art supposed to be the most free form of expression? People don't want a dictator but want to dictate what he does? I personally think he did this album the right way, his way, and it's country as shit for the most part. Great fuckin' album dude.
Filmed the entire write of Haw River. Songwriting is my absolute favorite thing in the world, it's pretty cool to see this and have it take me back to the day Blake and I wrote it, really hope y'all are loving this song, it's been unreal live🤘🏻
(Yes it's about Haw River NC and we wrote it in Wilmington NC)
Unreleased "Oh Tennessee". Album comes out in 20 days!🤘🏼
Oh, and Red Rocks last night was one of the most special nights of my life. More on that later🤙🏼
I've covered the topic of losing my dad a lot on these last two albums, he's on the cover on purpose, he was a massive part of my life. I'll be getting off that on albums moving forward but this song really brings this new album home in an awesome way. "You In 85" for me is what would that moment look like for both of us, as grown men finally getting to have a man to man conversation. It really makes this new album cover make sense. Can't wait for yall to hear it Friday👏🏼
This album is the most fun I've ever ever had making music. It's not even trying anymore, it's just writing songs and recording them right away to get them out to y'all. I'm in love with music these days and I believe these songs shows that. I hope y'all love it as much as we loved making it. "Go Down Singin'" is out now, let me know below what some of yall's favorites are so we can start getting them ready to play live.
Showed my mom the video for "you in 85". Tough to do with a camera in your face but I'm glad she got to see it before anybody else. So wild seein my dad for the first time in 16 years, a lot different than just seein him in a picture. Some awesome memories in this video.
Well I'll be damned. Still got that monkey on my back from last year. Big swing and a miss in Colorado on my elk tag and they're all still breathin but we had a damn good time chasin em. Got within 90 of 5 bulls I coulda shot that were just too young and saw some of the biggest bulls I've ever seen in my life that just didn't work out. Had a blast with some awesome buddies, I can't wait to do it again next year. Montana's up next, we ain't dead yet.
