I’m honored to be joining @AmericanFreedom as VP of the Plymouth Institute for Free Enterprise, where my team and I will be excited to champion the values that have defined America. Much of what has made America great first took root at Plymouth Colony in the 1620s: • A bold, pioneering spirit • Personal devotion to God and family • Self-government and the consent of the governed • The seeds of constitutionalism and the Rule of Law • Property rights and economic freedom Over the four centuries since, these ideals became a beacon to the world—from the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution to the liberation of Europe and Ronald Reagan’s “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall” speech. Yet American freedom has also lived in the quiet dignity of individuals, families, pastors, farmers, and business owners pursuing what they feel called to do. To keep this freedom and our nation thriving, the American people must carry its torch, and the federal government must remain constrained by the Constitution. At AAF, we will advance this vision as we look forward to celebrating the 250th anniversary of America’s independence!

Another day, another call from @oren_cass for Americans to build fewer homes, another call for housing to be less affordable, another call for things that sound good on a 30-second ad but make the real life situation far worse for the average American!

Want to help American farmers? Get rid of tariffs. Tariffs limit our export markets and raise costs for farmers when buying feed and fertilizer.

🚨New CPI and PPI Inflation Reports for April 📈Overall consumer prices UP 3.8% 📈 Energy prices UP 17.9% 📈 Intermediate PPI for unprocessed goods UP 4.1% 📈 Intermediate PPI for processed goods UP 2.7% ⚡️Energy drove 40% of the CPI spike This shows that inflation is accelerating - largely due to a temporary spike in energy prices as well and long-run pressure from the federal deficit. While intermediate prices (prices businesses pay each other along the production chain) are up, producers in the middle of the production chain are being squeezed and eating much of the cost increases themselves.

The reconciliation bill should cut government spending to save American families from facing even higher prices!

I hear you, but most of our imports our inputs into production and so the tariffs mostly are a double tax on the production process - in this case, they tend to work more like an income tax than a true consumption tax - let alone that they cause distortions and gaming across industries and across borders. All of that more than makes up for the small bit of these particular tariffs that work like a true consumption tax.

@RichAStern I know conservatives are and should be against taxes but if taxes are inevitable, then we have to turn our attention to the distribution of taxes. And tariffs distributionally are more like a consumption tax, which conservatives should be for.

Another jobs report, another report on shrinking the federal government. The federal bureaucracy is down 345,000 since Trump took office 🔥
