In other words, because of your support, this grandmother had someone to turn to for help. It will have a huge impact on this family in the short and long-term. Thank you, thank you, thank you. 6/

She also recently reached out for help. Her granddaughter's father is in jail, and this has been really tough on her granddaughter. She knew her granddaughter would benefit from counseling but didn't know where to start. So, Caitlin has connected the family to a counselor. 5/

We will continue our focus on literacy through the end of next year with a goal of substantially increasing the percentage of students who are able to meet grade-level standards. We wouldn't have gotten this far without all of you.

At our last meeting a couple of weeks ago it was great to see parents sharing their phone numbers with each other so they could stay in touch in between our in-person meetings. Watching a community form is simply awesome.

But I'll sometimes come across traces of appreciation for the awesome support she provides. When I walked into her office to meet with her recently, I saw that a teacher had put a note on her door. I can't say it any better than Ms. Hall. We are all so lucky to work with Caitlin.

And, of course, she was helping students and teachers throughout each day as well. Caitlin doesn't take pictures while she works, and she doesn't brag about her accomplishments.

Thread Below: As we end School Social Work Week, I want to recognize @cait_m_matthews, our remarkable and indispensable social worker. This is the toughest newsletter I write each year, because it really is difficult for me to articulate how much Caitlin means to me, to RCPEP,
