I'm very glad I replaced our oil boiler with a heat pump last year. Apparently, the breakeven COP to be cheaper than oil is now 1.8 🤯 The combination of ASHP, PV & battery can provide significant energy independence and tariff stability youtu.be/Tz0W9xCBxS0?si…

@Damon_BPHR Tbh, if I’d known you were doing the job I’d have come over. Charlie didn’t say who the installer was. 😉

@RichMWPHS Yeah these weren’t great tbh, slightly confusing on set up. We had 17 on the job and 1200lph. On the flow meters we couldn’t get them to add up to our flow rate, dt was good, rooms were warm, checked with testo and got dt but wernt registering unless you shut stuff down

@Damon_BPHR Deffo fitted on the returns right? 😂 They are just a flow rate gauge at the end of the day. The fact you’re saying they are at zero flow concerns me a little. Should ultimately show the flow rate you have. The ones I setup at Mars’ house all registered the correct flow rate.

@RichMWPHS Yeah mate he said he got them from a pirate 😂 I’m not overly fussed mate they wernt giving correct readings, some where registering 0 even though we had flow and rooms were at temp. Strange behaviour. How accurate are they?

@KhalifaDar82863 @Salad_Chefs Me too. Just got one of my PC’s sitting doing nothing that was active before I updated to 1.9.8. I think there has been too much messing about and it’s negativity impacting my rig.

@Salad_Chefs Ok, I’ve done clean installs on two of my rigs running lower paying jobs to 1.9.9. Hasn’t errored like 1.9.8 did. However it’s not downloading new jobs either? Is there a way to of retaining previous jobs when doing the update? Frustrating when you loose them for an update.

@RichMWPHS Glad to hear you're getting jobs - just keep an eye out for when we push a fix or update again because you'll want to be on the latest build once the issue is resolved. Thanks for your patience!

Heads up, Chefs: Some Chefs are currently seeing issues downloading/starting workloads. This may temporarily impact earnings (containers may fail to load). We’re investigating and will share an update as soon as we have a fix. Thanks for your patience. Cheers, Chefs.

@Salad_Chefs My supplier has some of the lowest electrical costs in the UK - 7p/kWh. Salad should really do the ground work and have an electricity calculator to show if you are going to profit or not. At least then you have an informed decision to lease your GPU or not.

@RichMWPHS For anyone with high electricity costs, it's unlikely. For anyone reading along - we recommend checking your local rates, measuring your power draw, and calculating whether you're in the green or not. For those in dorms or with solar, the above (generally) doesn't apply!

@Salad_Chefs Yeah, $0.02 per hour isn’t going to cover costs for many 3060 Ti owners I’d imagine.

@Salad_Chefs 290W whilst using the GPU… I was leaving it on after I’d finished using it but it’s not worth it for $0.01-0.03 per hour.

What is your dream “Chopping” Rig for Salad? Assuming you don’t have to pay exorbitant RAM prices of course.

HELP NEEDED: A colleague's mum in mid Wales has been told by her heating company they cannot install a heat pump for her in her old stone house. Can someone recommend a local installer who is experienced with old houses and heat pumps?

What a three days!!! Spent Monday at the Heat Pump Unconference where my presentation on real world heat pump / solar / tariff stats went down well. Then had two days at installer show talking a whole host of brilliant people talking about all aspects of renewables and heating. Missed lots of people too. Maybe next year @plumbers_urban 🙃 So many great things on the horizon. @MixergyLtd @Damon_BPHR @RichMWPHS @betateachpod @agile_phil @energystatsuk @electrician_247 The list is too long (and exhausting) to mention all the folks I caught up with!!! 😆 Back to the real job today. 👍
