Today marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Royal College of Emergency Medicine as Dr Ian ‘Higgi’ Higginson officially takes on the role of President, bringing years of experience as VP and a strong track record in tackling crowding, promoting sustainable EM, and improving workplace culture. Welcome, President Higginson! As Dr Adrian Boyle hands over the Presidency of RCEM, we reflect on a tenure defined by advocacy, integrity, and unwavering commitment to the specialty. Adrian’s leadership has spanned a period of immense challenge and transformation in Emergency Medicine. From winter pressures to workforce strain, he has consistently championed the needs of patients and clinicians alike. Thank you, Adrian, for your leadership, your candour, and your tireless work on behalf of RCEM and its members.
