Don't get me wrong, I love Matt Taylor more than 90% of my own family and have done since he first joined as a Southern League Oil Tanker of a CB but something feels weird and a bit lazy about his permanent appointment, especially after relegation. #ECFC

@lukeakehurst It’s not the speed. It’s the policies you are implementing. You’re not listening to what the majority want.

For the avoidance of doubt, I am completely opposed to Labour having a leadership challenge and will support Keir Starmer if there was such an election. I don't think there will be one in any case. We do need to listen to voters on speeding up delivering change, especially on the cost of living. Following the Tories down the path of constant coups against PMs would make the country politically and economically weaker and less stable at a time of intense strategic danger. Labour moving to the left would have exactly the same disastrous results as every other time we tried it.

@Keir_Starmer You lot really are out of touch with people. It’s nothing to do with the pace of change. More to do with being let down. You care more about looking after people who shouldn’t be here than British citizens. You don’t care about those poor kids that were abused. Just to name a few

These are tough results for Labour. There’s no sugarcoating it. We’ve lost brilliant Labour representatives who’ve stood up for their communities. People are still frustrated. Their lives aren’t changing fast enough. We haven’t offered enough hope or optimism for the future. I was elected to change this country - tough days like this don’t weaken my determination to do that. They strengthen it.

Can't help think that we will sell Wareham ASAP as to get funds in instead of waiting for the highest bid ....In all honesty what do we think he's worth ..1.5 -2 million? #ECFC

@BenECFC1904 Got a good spine in place gk cbs midfielders. Wilson up front. Need a good manager with contacts. Bring in loanees. Couple of seasoned players. Sell Wareham. Few quid in the bank for wages. Might take couple of seasons but we could have a decent young team

That is not to say bravery = spending big. But with a limited budget, I’d rather it’s spent on trying something new than regressing into what feels comfortable and well-known.

It’s really important for the club to be brave in their decision-making now. I’d argue playing it safe, on and off the pitch, has led us to where we are now. In terms of the retained list and the manager, I’d rather see attempts to change than continue what wasn’t working #ECFC

An incredible 52-year journey comes to an end. Following extensive consideration, BBC Sport has made the difficult decision to say goodbye to Football Focus at the end of this season. First broadcast in 1974, Football Focus is a testament to the brilliant team who have worked on it over the years and, of course, the audience. The programme has been a staple of the BBC’s football coverage for decades, providing fans with interviews, analysis and stories from across the game ahead of the weekend’s fixtures. But changing audience behaviours mean fans are now increasingly consuming football content in different ways and we need to respond appropriately as we face difficult decisions around how the licence fee is spent. Fans are accessing discussion, highlights, analysis and news through digital platforms and on-demand viewing and as viewing habits continue to evolve, it is right that BBC Sport adapts how it brings football coverage to the widest audiences across television, radio, online and to its extensive social platforms. BBC Sport boasts a strong football rights portfolio and is set to significantly expand its digital output this year growing content across BBC platforms, as well as a bold new slate of exclusive shows on YouTube. Featuring fresh formats, big personalities and more frequent, always-on content tailored for digital audiences, the expansion will bring fans closer to the game than ever before delivering more high-quality, accessible and engaging football coverage at scale. We will release further details on these plans in the coming months.

2 points dropped. Inexcusable falling asleep and letting them back in the game straight away from 1-0 and 2-1 up. Deserve to be relegated. Embarrassing. #ECFC

Gary and the boys keep rolling with goals from three very different attacking signings - the main man, the punt and the January impact youngster. Especially pleasing to see CMG showing he was worth the risk after his period of injury. Up the bleddy City! #ECFC
