Well said @williamnhutton

Elon Musk’s uncalled for interventions on our riots - civil war, two tier policing etc - are right wing tropes that the extreme right want to be true. But they traduce reality. Is this what his “free speech”means? The untrammelled capacity to spread disinformation?

The Dutch can usually be relied upon- but they can make the most monumental

The funeral today of our wonderful station master at Billingshurst, Tony Silver. A full church and a full memorial book tell their own story about public service and how we must value it. @SouthernRailUK

My confidence in @Keir_Starmer has grown. I do not believe in blueprint plans while the world is in turmoil. We need change and for that we need to have competent and confident leadership. This about service not self. @UKLabour

Mike Tyson said "everyone has a plan 'til they get thumped in the face". We need leadership with competence, consistency, and calmness. @Keir_Starmer will show why he is the Prime Minister we need for the uncertain world that surrounds us and the fragile future we face.

The @Keir_Starmer / @RishiSunak debate tonight - as Mike Tyson memorably said "everyone has a plan until they get thumped in the face". What I am looking for is leadership through competence, consistency, and calmness. @Keir_Starmer will show that tonight @UKLabour

@RichardDABurge I don’t blame you, but I’m way too much a cynic of politics to expect anything much better. But please do a follow up in a year or so time and tell us how it’s going.

This morning I spoke with @CNBC about the UK’s strengthening relationship with Singapore and the City’s continued strength post-Brexit. We also discussed the importance of talent for global financial centres and what businesses need from Government on this. Watch below

Did you know that the @RNLI was founded right here in the City of London in 1824? 200 years later RNLI volunteers and staff have saved over 146,270 lives - an average of two a day!
Thrilled to bestow a blue plaque on the RNLI’s first HQ today: highlighting the important role the Square Mile played in the organisation's foundation and growth. @TowerRNLI

Here is a decent man doing his best in managing the proceeding of one of the most venal, self-interested and nasty workplaces in the UK. His name is @LindsayHoyle_MP and he is a good man

Let #SNP voters understand - your party is now fully integrated into the Westminster system and all its worst elements - the Gaza shambles yesterday was caused by the cynical use of a tragic situation to secure party political advantage

Completely and utterly barking mad - but also very dangerous if the mainstream Tories allow Truss and her allies access to their party machine. Liz Truss: Civil service run by ‘trans activists and green extremists’

That would be an improvement - as @RishiSunak pays only 23% tax, he knows the best way to cut your tax is be rich, invest, and sit back ! #respectSMEs Rishi Sunak: I’ll cut taxes to reward hard work

An interesting take on progressive taxation ! An overall rate of 23% and the most punitive rate @RishiSunak pays is for doing a proper job, as opposed to his unearned income - how so unlike the lives of us ordinary entrepreneurs and business people bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politi…
