The Ottawa Police Service is renewing its appeal for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a February 20 bank robbery on Klondike Road. As the investigation continues, officers are now releasing an image of a vehicle believed to be involved in the incident. Officers responded to the 400 block of Cumberland Street just before 9 a.m. for a report of an individual suffering multiple stab wounds. They were transported to hospital, and officers remain in the area canvassing for witnesses and continuing the investigation. We are saddened to learn of the passing of Crime Stoppers founder Greg MacAleese earlier this week. It was through his determination as a detective to solve crime and keep communities safe that Crime Stoppers was born. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and loved ones.

The National Capital Area Crime Stoppers (@CrimeStoppersOT) and Ottawa Police Service are pleased to be participating in Crime Stoppers Awareness month this January. This year’s theme is “Empowering Through Education, Preventing Through Action.” Crime Stoppers is a community-based tips program that allows members of the public to anonymously report information to police. Over the last year, with your information to Crime Stoppers, the Ottawa Police and the Ontario Provincial Police were able to seize $357,090 worth of drugs, $233,345 in other property, lay 37 charges and clear 19 cases. This could not have been done without the help of the community and your tips!! The public is encouraged to call a province wide toll-free number 1-800-222-8477 with any information about a crime that has occurred or is about to occur. If the information provided solves or prevents a crime, the anonymous caller is eligible for a cash reward.
