Pattaya Traffic Committee Moves to Resolve Congestion in Three Key Areas, Plans Public Hearings for One-Way System
Pattaya, April 27th 2026– The Pattaya City Council’s Committee on Administration and Maintaining Public Order is accelerating efforts to tackle chronic traffic congestion in three residential and commercial zones, with plans to introduce a One-Way traffic system and other measures following public consultation.
On Monday, April 27th 2026, at 10:00 AM, Mr. Anupong Puthanawarat, Chairman of the Committee, along with the Assistant Secretary to the Mayor, Pattaya City Council members, and relevant government officials, conducted an on-site survey of the problem areas.
The three targeted locations are:
- Moo Ban Saeng Supha 2 (Soi Khao Noi)
- Soi Arunothai 7, 9, and 11
- The roads adjacent to Central Marina Outlet (Soi 2 and Soi 3)
Mr. Anupong revealed that the inspection was prompted by repeated complaints from local residents. The main issue is severe traffic congestion caused by vehicles parking on both sides of the narrow roads, which reduces available space and makes it difficult for oncoming traffic to pass. This has created ongoing inconvenience for both motorists and residents in the affected areas.
He stated that the committee is now considering practical solutions, including implementing a One-Way traffic system or designating no-parking zones in these locations.
“Any measures taken must involve cooperation and participation from the local community,” Mr. Anupong said. “Therefore, the committee will organize public hearings (ประชาคม) to gather opinions from residents directly impacted by the changes.”
Official invitation letters will be sent to affected residents to ensure their voices are heard. The committee wants to reach a consensus that is acceptable to all parties before implementing concrete solutions, ensuring long-term efficiency and sustainability of the traffic management measures.
