@Daniel_Batal Truth… viewers who have watched within the last 28 days get served first. If you have a poor performing video your next video will be shown to a much smaller audience. Two poor performers in a row is especially bad. Just make videos you believe in.

Understanding how YouTube actually works, not how we assume it works, really matters.
While long-form video notifications generally go out at publish time to a subset of subscribers who have notifications enabled and a history of engaging with that creator, Shorts and Community posts work very differently.
Shorts and Community posts are primarily feed-driven. Notifications for them are often delayed, selective, or don’t happen at all.
YouTube evaluates viewer behavior first, not just whether someone is subscribed or has notifications turned on.
YouTube considers several things:
•Has the viewer engaged with this creator recently?
•Have they engaged with this content type (Shorts or Community posts)?
•Do they typically ignore these kinds of notifications or posts?
As an example: I engage with @rickbeato’s content frequently, yet I just received a notification for a post he published about 4 hours prior.
If I hadn’t been engaging with his content recently, there’s a strong chance I wouldn’t have seen that notification at all, even though I’m subscribed to his channel.
This is why I try to remind Creators not to get overly fixated on subscribers.
Subscriber status is a weak signal for YouTube recommendations.
Viewer behavior matters a heckuva lot more ☮️

@Daniel_Batal @JensLJazz There is no secret that I could tell any band or artist on how to grow their YouTube channel. I post things that are interesting to me. It doesn’t matter what time day or night that you post. That’s what I do and what I’ve always done.

With resoect, I’m not here for whatever you’re turning this into.
My last comment: Rick specifically called me out and asked why folks like me and others in the YouTube growth space weren’t helping more musicians learn how to grow on YouTube (something I actually do).
I think he & I both could do a better job of helping lesser known bands master YouTube and find a broader audience. ☮️
